Question 2094: Are there any recommendations in the hadiths to eat breakfast?

                Answer
✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following hadiths:
📚 Al-Kāfī, Vol. 6, p. 288
Shihāb said: I complained to Imam Sādiq (peace be upon him) about the diseases and 'tukhmah' (meaning indigestion and corruption of food in the stomach) that afflicted me; so the Imam said to me: Eat breakfast and dinner and do not eat anything in between them, because the corruption of the body is in that! Have you not heard that Allāh the Blessed and Exalted says (in Sūrat Maryam, verse 62): "For them, their provision is therein, morning and evening!"
📚 Al-Kāfī, Vol. 6, p. 278
Imam Sādiq (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, Prophet Ya'qūb (peace be upon him) had a caller who would proclaim every morning up to the distance of one farsakh (league) from his house: Whoever wants breakfast, let him come to the house of Ya'qūb! And when it was evening, he would proclaim: Whoever wants dinner, let him come to the house of Ya'qūb!
📚 Amālī al-Tūsī, Vol. 2, p. 279
Imam Sādiq (peace be upon him) said: Whoever intends to remain (live long) - although there is no permanence (eternity) involved - should eat the breakfast meal at the beginning and start of the day, lighten his cloak (reduce debt), and reduce intercourse with women!
✅ Various narrative evidences, a few of which were mentioned, indicate that the divine prophets and successors were people who ate the morning and breakfast meal, and no hadith regarding its abandonment has been reported in reliable narrations. As is evident from its name in the Arabic language, the recommendation of the hadiths is to consume it at the beginning and start of the day.
