✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following narration:

1 الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ وَ عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ جَمِیعاً عَنْ بَکْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِیِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (علیه السلام) فِی الْعُوذَةِ قَالَ: تَأْخُذُ قُلَّةً جَدِیدَةً فَتَجْعَلُ فِیهَا مَاءً ثُمَّ تَقْرَأُ عَلَیْهَا إِنَّا أَنْزَلْناهُ فِی لَیْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ثَلَاثِینَ مَرَّةً ثُمَّ تُعَلِّقُ وَ تَشْرَبُ مِنْهَا وَ تَتَوَضَّأُ وَ یُزْدَادُ فِیهَا مَاءٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said regarding ta'wiz: You take a new clay jug, place water in it, then recite Surah Al-Qadr ('Indeed, We sent it down during the Night of Decree') 30 times over it. Then, hang it somewhere, drink from its water, perform ablution with it, and continuously add water to it. Inshallah.

✅ Ta'wiz or amulet refers to supplications, specific Quranic verses, or certain actions and objects used with particular rituals to ward off afflictions, illnesses, fever, epilepsy, calamities, evil eye, magic, and the like, or to protect against them in various ways. It is essential that its origin, rituals, and application are derived from the sayings of the Infallibles (peace be upon them) to ensure its religious legitimacy.

✅ In the above hadith, one such ta'wiz is introduced by our master, Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him). To observe its rituals precisely, a new clay jug must be purchased, water poured into it, Surah Al-Qadr recited over the water 30 times, and then the jug hung or placed in an appropriate location, such as the home. The water should be used for drinking and ablution, and more water should be added to the jug before it runs out. Inshallah.
