Question 2009: What is the ruling on asking religious rulings from artificial intelligence and acting according to its responses?

✅ Answer: Pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Mahasin, Vol. 1, p. 220

Zayd Sh hamm says: I said to Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, regarding the divine saying (in Surah Abasa, verse 24) that states: 'Let man observe his food,' what is his food?! He said: His knowledge that he acquires—let him be careful from whom he takes it!

📚 Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 2, p. 90

Ishaq ibn Ya’qub says: I requested Muhammad ibn Uthman Amri to deliver a letter I had written, containing questions that were difficult for me, to the Imam of the Time, peace be upon him. Then a signed letter came in the handwriting of our Master, the Imam of the Time, may Allah hasten his relief, stating: As for the events that occur, refer to the narrators of our hadiths, for they are my proof upon you, and I am Allah’s proof...

3⃣ From Musa ibn Ja’far, from his forefathers, peace be upon them, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: 'Ask the scholars...'

📚 Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 1, p. 197

Imam Kazim, peace be upon him, narrated from his forefathers that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: 'Ask the scholars...'

📚 Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 298

Muhammad ibn Harun says: I heard Imam Abu al-Hasan, peace be upon him, say: When injustice and oppression outweigh justice, it is not permissible for anyone to assume good of another until he knows it (i.e., the good) from him!

5⃣ Ali ibn Suwayd Sa’i says: Imam Kazim, peace be upon him, while in prison, wrote to me: As for what you mentioned, O Ali, about from whom you should take the landmarks and rulings of your religion, (the answer is) do not take the landmarks and rulings of your religion from other than our Shia, for if you exceed this, you will have taken your religion and beliefs from traitors who betrayed Allah and His Messenger and betrayed the trusts of Allah and His Messenger!

📚 Rijal al-Kashi, Vol. 1, p. 3

✅ According to the above narrations and others, the duty of a responsible person regarding religious questions is to refer, among others, to trustworthy Shia scholars and jurists who are truthful, so that through them he may learn the hadiths of the infallible Imams to base his actions upon them.

✅ For some time now, with the rise of something dubious called artificial intelligence, some believers have been asking their religious questions to AI, and it provides detailed answers that often attract the questioner’s attention!

However, firstly, Shia do not have permission to refer to or, in particular, trust this entirely suspicious entity.

Secondly: A close examination of the responses provided by artificial intelligence clearly reveals that this source mixes truth with falsehood, fabricates hadiths with phrasing similar to authentic hadiths, and cites reputable books such as Wasail al-Shia, Kafi, and Nahj al-Balagha, yet these narrations are neither found at the cited references nor in other sources!

Thus, it is evident that, at the very least, behind the religious section of artificial intelligence are jinn and human devils who intend to spread fabricated and false hadiths and confuse matters for believers. It should never be a source of reference or trust for Shia!

✅ Over the past few months, more than ten beautiful but fabricated hadiths from artificial intelligence have been sent to me by individuals!

Given the warnings that the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, have given to the Shia, it is disgraceful for Shia to trust or refer to this end-time corruption. They should never ask their questions from artificial intelligence instead of referring to reliable books, scholars, and trustworthy jurists!

Dear Shia, be vigilant, as fabricated hadiths from artificial intelligence are being published and republished in cyberspace. Therefore, take hadiths only from trustworthy individuals and places, and at the very least, stay far away from the religious section of artificial intelligence. Refer to authentic Shia books and trustworthy Shia scholars and jurists to remain safe from this strange fitna.

✅ Give an urgent and serious warning to your religious brothers about the fitna of artificial intelligence as well. God willing.
