Question 1943: How many times should Ayat al-Kursi be recited when leaving the house?

✅ Answer: Refer to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 623

In the Hadith of the Four Hundred, Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) said: If one of you has a need, pursue it early on a Thursday, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: 'O Allah, bless my nation in the early hours of Thursday.'

When leaving his house, one should recite the last verses of Surah Al-Imran, Ayat al-Kursi, Surah Al-Qadr, and Surah Al-Fatihah, as it fulfills the needs of both this world and the Hereafter.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 543

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: When one of you intends to travel, let him stand at the door of his house facing the direction he will travel. Recite Surah Al-Fatihah facing forward, to the right, and to the left; Surah Al-Nas and Surah Al-Falaq facing forward, to the right, and to the left; Surah Al-Ikhlas facing forward, to the right, and to the left; and Ayat al-Kursi facing forward, to the right, and to the left. Then say:

'May Allah protect him and what accompanies him, deliver him and his belongings to their destination, and keep him and his belongings safe.' Have you not seen that sometimes a person is kept safe, but what accompanies him is not, or he reaches his destination, but what he carries does not?

📚 Al-Mahasin, Vol. 2, p. 348

Hammad ibn Uthman said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Is it disliked to travel on certain days, such as Wednesdays? The Imam said: Start your journey with charity and recite Ayat al-Kursi when you travel.
