Question 1934: Is the prostration of gratitude (Sujood al-Shukr) performed immediately after the Salaam of the prayer or after the supplications (Ta'qibat)?
✅ Answer: Please consider the following narrations:
1⃣ Abu Al-Husayn Al-Asadi (Muhammad bin Ja'far) narrates that Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The worshiper prostrates after the obligatory prayer to thank Allah, the Exalted, for granting him the ability to fulfill His obligation...
📚 Al-Fiqh, Volume 1, Page 333
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, the individual who performs the obligatory prayer prostrates after it to thank Allah, the Exalted, for bestowing upon him the success to perform the obligation...

Raja bin Abi Dhahhak said: When the sun would decline (noon), Imam Ridha (peace be upon him) would renew his ablution, stand, and pray six Rak’ahs. Then he would give the call to prayer (Adhan), perform two more Rak’ahs, recite the Iqama, and pray the Noon prayer. After completing the Salaam, he would engage in as much glorification, praise, magnification, and declaring the Oneness of Allah as Allah willed, then perform the prostration of gratitude, in which he would say 'Shukran Lillah' (Thanks to Allah) 100 times. Then he would rise and perform six Rak’ahs... He would then give the call to prayer, perform two more Rak’ahs, and in the second Rak’ah, he would perform Qunoot. After completing the Salaam, he would recite the Iqama and pray the Afternoon prayer. Upon completing the Salaam, he would sit in his prayer place as Allah willed, glorify, praise, magnify, and declare the Oneness of Allah, and then perform the prostration of gratitude, saying 'Hamdan Lillah' (Praise be to Allah) 100 times...
When the sun would set, he would perform ablution and pray three Rak’ahs for Maghrib with Adhan and Iqama. After completing the Salaam, he would sit in his prayer place as Allah willed, glorify, praise, magnify, and declare the Oneness of Allah, and then perform the prostration of gratitude...
And he continued: Then he would rise and pray the four Rak’ahs of Isha. After completing the Salaam, he would sit in his prayer place and engage in divine remembrance as Allah willed, glorify, praise, magnify, and declare the Oneness of Allah, and then perform the prostration of gratitude after the supplications. He added: When dawn would break, he would give Adhan and Iqama, perform the two Rak’ahs of Fajr, and upon completing the Salaam, he would engage in supplications until sunrise. Then, he would perform the prostration of gratitude until the day became bright.

✅ In the narrations, the place of the prostration of gratitude is generally described as being after the prayer. However, there is no evidence specifying that it must be performed immediately after the obligatory prayer. Although performing it immediately is not prohibited, narrations such as 2⃣ and others explicitly indicate that it is done after the supplications (Ta'qibat).
