Question 1919: Sometimes a person swears or makes a statement or action that is funny but sinful, which we see in a video clip or in person. Unconsciously, we enjoy it, laugh, or are drawn to clips containing sins. How should we deal with this, and what is the way to correct it?
✅ Answer: Please refer to the following narrations:

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'There will come a time for the people when the heart of the believer will melt inside, just as lead melts in fire! This will happen because of the calamities and innovations that their religion will witness, but they will be unable to change them.'

📚 *Al-Tehzhib*, Vol. 6, p. 177
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: 'The least rejection of a sin is to meet the people of sin with a scowling and displeased face!'
📚 *Al-Mahasin*, p. 16
Imam Zayn al-Abidin (peace be upon him) said: 'Musa ibn Imran (peace be upon him) asked: 'O Lord! Who are the people whom You will place in the shadow of Your throne on the day when there will be no shade except Your shade?' Allah Almighty revealed to him: 'They are the people whose hearts are pure and clean, and their hands are free from corruption... and they are those who, like a wounded leopard, become angry when My forbidden things are considered lawful!'
✅ Based on the above narrations and others, those with pure and clean hearts, when they see or hear an evil deed or sin, their hearts immediately reject it, and they become disgusted by it. As a result, their faces frown and show anger, and their displeasure and dissatisfaction are apparent both in their appearance and their hearts.
Therefore, if a person laughs or feels joy and excitement upon seeing or hearing an evil deed or sin, it indicates a flaw and darkness in their heart. Despite knowing and believing that the act is sinful, their heart, which according to the narrations is the leader of their limbs and faculties, does not issue the necessary command for rejection, anger, or a scowling face. Instead, it directs them to laugh, smile, and eagerly pursue the sin!
For this reason, it is essential for the individual to urgently take action to remove the flaws, darkness, and problems in their heart so that the commands issued by the heart to their limbs and faculties can be corrected.
✅ Whoever laughs upon hearing insults, swearing, offensive speech, or gossip among people, or enjoys clips containing sins, should know that a great calamity has befallen their heart, and they must think about treating it.
