Question 1917: Is there a special honor for blind Shi'ahs on the Day of Judgment?
✅ Answer: Please refer to the following narrations:
📚 *Thawāb al-A'māl*, p. 225
Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever meets Allah as a blind person, patiently enduring in hope for divine reward, and loves the family of Muhammad (peace be upon them all), will meet Allah without any reckoning!'
It is narrated that Allah, the Almighty, does not take away the eyes of a servant, whether one or both, unless He will not question them about any sin!
📚 *Al-Kāfi*, Vol. 1, p. 470
Abu Basir said: 'I came to Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) and asked: 'Are you the heirs of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family)?' The Imam replied: 'Yes!' I asked: 'Is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) the heir of the Prophets and knows what they know?' He replied: 'Yes!' I asked: 'Are you able to revive the dead and cure the blind and leprous?' The Imam replied: 'Yes! By the permission of Allah!'
Then the Imam said: 'O Abu Muhammad! Come closer to me!' I approached him, and the Imam placed his hands on my face and eyes! Then I saw the sun, the sky, the earth, and the rooms and everything in the house!
Then the Imam said to me: 'Would you prefer to remain as you are (blind) and on the Day of Judgment, everything good for people would be for you and everything bad would be against you, or would you prefer to return to your previous state (blind) and have Heaven reserved for you alone?' I replied: 'I prefer to return to my previous state!' So the Imam placed his hands on my eyes, and I returned to the state of blindness I had been in!
He said: 'I narrated this hadith to Ibn Abi Umayr, who said: 'I testify that this matter is true, just as the Day of Truth is true!'
✅ Based on the above narrations and others, if a person from the Shi'ahs of the family of Muhammad (peace be upon them all) becomes blind in one or both eyes and patiently endures this affliction with the hope of earning divine reward, Allah, the Almighty, has special honors for them which He will grant, Insha'Allah.
✅ Similar to the hand that was placed on the eyes of Abu Basir in narration 2, by the permission of Allah, it is meant to be placed on the heads of the servants to perfect their intellects! But the owner of this blessed hand is hidden behind the veil of occultation! Do you not wish to pray, supplicate, and cry for the hastening of His reappearance?!
📚 *Kāmāl al-Dīn*, Vol. 2, p. 392
Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: 'When our Qa'im rises, he will place his hand on the heads of the servants, and their intellects will be gathered with it and perfected!'
