✅ Answer: 'Paralysis' refers to a condition where one half of the body or certain limbs become numb and immobile, often occurring due to a stroke.

1⃣عن السَّکُونِیِّ عن أَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِیُّ صلی الله علیه و آله مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ یَفْشُوَ الْفَالِجُ وَ مَوْتُ الْفَجْأَةِ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 261

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'One of the signs and indications of the time (the Day of Judgment or the appearance of Imam al-Zamana) is that paralysis and sudden death will become widespread!'

2⃣عن إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ مِهْزَمٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ سَمِعَ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ یَقُولُ مَنْ قَرَأَ آیَةَ الْکُرْسِیِّ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ لَمْ یَخَفِ الْفَالِجَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا فِی دُبُرِ کُلِّ فَرِیضَةٍ لَمْ یَضُرَّهُ ذُو حُمَةٍ

Ibrahim bin Mahzam narrates from someone who heard from Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) that he said: 'Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi before sleeping, they will not fear paralysis, and whoever recites it after each obligatory prayer, no harmful creature with a sting will harm them!'

3⃣عن سَعِیدِ بْنِ جَنَاحٍ عَنْ مَوْلًی لِأَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ قال: دَعَا بِتَمْرٍ فَأَکَلَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بِی شَهْوَةٌ وَ لَکِنِّی أَکَلْتُ سَمَکاً ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ بَاتَ وَ فِی جَوْفِهِ سَمَکٌ لَمْ یُتْبِعْهُ بِتَمَرَاتٍ أَوْ عَسَلٍ لَمْ یَزَلْ عِرْقُ الْفَالِجِ یَضْرِبُ عَلَیْهِ حَتَّی یُصْبِحَ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 323

A servant of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Imam asked for dates and ate them, then said: 'Know that I did not crave them, but I had eaten fish!'

Then he said: 'Anyone who sleeps while having fish in their stomach and has not eaten a few dates or honey afterward, will always experience the paralysis vein striking them until morning!'

4⃣عَنْ یَاسِرٍ الْخَادِمِ عَنِ الرِّضَا قال: الْبِطِّیخُ عَلَی الرِّیقِ یُورِثُ الْفَالِجَ نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْهُ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 361

Imam Reza (peace be upon him) said: 'Eating melon on an empty stomach causes paralysis! We seek refuge in Allah from this!'

5⃣قال الصَّادِقُ أَکْلُ الْبِطِّیخِ عَلَی الرِّیقِ یُورِثُ الْفَالِجَ و أَکْلُ التَّمْرِ الْبَرْنِیِّ عَلَی الرِّیقِ یُورِثُ الْفَالِجَ.

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 443

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Eating melon on an empty stomach causes paralysis, and eating Barni dates on an empty stomach also causes paralysis!'

6⃣عن محمد بن صالح الخثعمی قال: کَتَبْتُ إِلَی أَبِی مُحَمَّدٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْبِطِّیخِ وَ کُنْتُ بِهِ مَشْغُوفاً فَکَتَبَ إِلَیَّ لَا تَأْکُلْهُ عَلَی الرِّیقِ فَإِنَّهُ یُوَلِّدُ الْفَالِجَ...

📚 Kashf al-Ghamma, Vol. 3, p. 305

Muhammad bin Salih said: 'I wrote a letter to Imam Hassan Askari (peace be upon him) asking about melon, which I was fond of. Imam replied: 'Do not eat it on an empty stomach, as it causes paralysis!'

7⃣عن غِیَاثِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ آبَائِهِ علیهم السلام عَنِ النَّبِیِّ صلی الله علیه و آله قَالَ: لَا تَکْرَهُوا أَرْبَعَةً فَإِنَّهَا لِأَرْبَعَةٍ الزُّکَامَ فَإِنَّهُ أَمَانٌ مِنَ الْجُذَامِ وَ لَا تَکْرَهُوا الدَّمَامِیلَ فَإِنَّهَا أَمَانٌ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ وَ لَا تَکْرَهُوا الرَّمَدَ فَإِنَّهُ أَمَانٌ مِنَ الْعَمَی وَ لَا تَکْرَهُوا السُّعَالَ فَإِنَّهُ أَمَانٌ مِنَ الْفَالِجِ

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 97

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), from his ancestors, narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) who said: 'Do not dislike four things, for they are signs of protection against four things: dislike the common cold, which is a shield from leprosy; dislike boils, which are a shield from vitiligo; dislike eye pain, which is a shield from blindness; and dislike coughing, for it is a shield from the disease of paralysis!'

✅ Paralysis is one of the bodily afflictions that unfortunately many people suffer from today due to strokes.

However, there is a solution to protect all Shia from this calamity, and it is as follows:

Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) said: 'When our Qa'im rises, Allah, the Almighty, will remove this affliction from our Shia!'
