1⃣عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِی مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَدَائِنِیِّ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ حَبِیبٍ بَیَّاعِ الْهَرَوِیِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عِیسَی بْنُ زَیْدٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِ یَثَّغِرُ الصَّبِیُّ لِسَبْعٍ وَ یُؤْمَرُ بِالصَّلَاةِ لِتِسْعٍ وَ یُفَرَّقُ بَیْنَهُمْ فِی الْمَضَاجِعِ لِعَشْرٍ وَ یَحْتَلِمُ لِأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَ یَنْتَهِی طُولُهُ لِإِحْدَی وَ عِشْرِینَ سَنَةً وَ یَنْتَهِی عَقْلُهُ لِثَمَانٍ وَ عِشْرِینَ إِلَّا التَّجَارِبَ.

Imam Sadiq (PBUH) said: Amir al-Mu'minin (PBUH) stated: A boy's permanent teeth begin to grow (or his milk teeth fall out) at seven years old, he is instructed to pray at nine, his sleeping arrangements are separated at ten, he reaches puberty at fourteen, his height reaches its peak at twenty-one, and his intellect reaches its peak at twenty-eight, except for what he gains through experience.

2⃣مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ أَبِی مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَدَائِنِیِّ عَنْ عَائِذِ بْنِ حَبِیبٍ بَیَّاعِ الْهَرَوِیِّ عَنْ عِیسَی بْنِ زَیْدٍ رَفَعَهُ إِلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: یَثَّغِرُ الْغُلَامُ لِسَبْعِ سِنِینَ وَ یُؤْمَرُ بِالصَّلَاةِ لِتِسْعٍ وَ یُفَرَّقُ بَیْنَهُمْ فِی الْمَضَاجِعِ لِعَشْرٍ وَ یَحْتَلِمُ لِأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَ مُنْتَهَی طُولِهِ لِاثْنَتَیْنِ وَ عِشْرِینَ سَنَةً وَ مُنْتَهَی عَقْلِهِ لِثَمَانٍ وَ عِشْرِینَ سَنَةً إِلَّا التَّجَارِبَ.

Isa bin Zayd narrated that Imam Sadiq (PBUH) said: A boy's permanent teeth begin to grow at seven, he is instructed to pray at nine, reaches puberty at fourteen, and his height continues to grow until he is twenty-two. His intellect peaks at twenty-eight, except for what he learns from experience.

3⃣قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ علیه السلام یُرَبَّی الصَّبِیُّ سَبْعاً وَ یُؤَدَّبُ سَبْعاً وَ یُسْتَخْدَمُ سَبْعاً وَ مُنْتَهَی طُولِهِ فِی ثَلَاثٍ وَ عِشْرِینَ سَنَةً وَ عَقْلِهِ فِی خَمْسٍ وَ ثَلَاثِینَ سَنَةً وَ مَا کَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ فَبِالتَّجَارِبِ

📚 Al-Faqih, Volume 3, Page 493

Amir al-Mu'minin (PBUH) said: A child is nurtured and fed for seven years, disciplined for seven years, and put to work for seven years. His height reaches its maximum at twenty-three, and his intellect peaks at thirty-five, with further growth depending on experience.

4⃣عَنْ عَلِيٍّ في حديث أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ: يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِنَّ الْغُلَامَ إِنَّمَا يَثَّغِرُ فِي سَبْعِ سِنِينَ وَ يَحْتَلِمُ فِي أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَ يُسْتَكْمَلُ طُولُهُ فِي أَرْبَعٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ يُسْتَكْمَلُ عَقْلُهُ فِي ثَمَانٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً وَ مَا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ بِالتَّجَارِبِ

📚 Al-Ja'fariyyat, Page 213

Amir al-Mu'minin (PBUH) said in a narration to the second usurper: At seven, a boy's milk teeth fall out, his permanent teeth grow in, and at fourteen, he reaches puberty. His height completes at twenty-four, and his intellect at twenty-eight, with further development depending on experience.

✅ As seen in the above narrations, a boy's height is said to peak between 21, 22, 23, and 24 years.

✅ While narrations 1⃣ and 2⃣ are from the same narrator and may represent the same hadith with a possible transcription error, and although the sources and chains of these hadiths vary in strength, this difference in the age of height growth can be attributed to the natural variation in growth rates among boys. Therefore, these narrations are not contradictory, and the knowledge rests with the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH).
