قال الله تعالي : إِنَّمَا یَفْتَرِی الْکَذِبَ الَّذِینَ لَا یُؤْمِنُونَ بِآیَاتِ اللَّهِ وَ أُولَئِکَ هُمُ الْکَاذِبُون

📚 Surah An-Nahl, Ayah 105

'Only those who do not believe in Allah's revelations fabricate lies, and they are the liars!'

1⃣عن عمرو بن أبی المقدام قال قال لِی أَبُوجَعْفَرٍ فی أَوَّلِ دَخْلَةٍ دَخَلْتُ عَلَیْهِ تَعَلَّمُوا الصِّدْقَ قَبْلَ الْحَدِیث

Amr ibn Abi Miqdām said: 'The first time I met Imam Baqir (peace be upon him), he said to me: Before narrating, learn to speak the truth!'

2⃣عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عن آبَائِهِ فِی وَصِیَّةِ النَّبِیِّ لِعَلِیٍّ یَا عَلِیُّ مَنْ کَذَبَ عَلَیَّ مُتَعَمِّداً فَلْیَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّار

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in his will to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever intentionally attributes a lie to me should prepare his place in the Fire!'

3⃣عن أبی النعمان قال قال أَبُوجَعْفَرٍ یا أَبَاالنُّعْمَانِ لَا تَکْذِبْ عَلَیْنَا کَذِبَةً فَتُسْلَبَ الْحَنِیفِیَّةَ....فَإِنَّکَ مَوْقُوفٌ لَا مَحَالَةَ و مَسْئُولٌ فَإِنْ صَدَقْتَ صَدَّقْنَاکَ و إِنْ کَذَبْتَ کَذَّبْنَاک

Abu Nu'man said: 'Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: O Abu Nu'man! Do not attribute lies to us, lest Islam be taken away from you... He said further: because you will be held accountable and questioned, and if you have spoken the truth, we will affirm it, and if you have lied, we will reject it!'

4⃣عن أبی خدیجة عن أبی عبداللَّه قال: الْکَذِبُ عَلَی اللَّهِ و عَلَی رَسُولِهِ مِنَ الْکَبَائِر

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Attributing lies to Allah and His Messenger is one of the major sins!'

5⃣عن أبی بصیر قال سمعت أباعبداللَّه یَقُولُ إِنَّ الْکَذِبَةَ لَتُفَطِّرُ الصَّائِمَ قُلْتُ و أَیُّنَا لَا یَکُونُ ذَلِکَ مِنْهُ قَالَ لَیْسَ حَیْثُ ذَهَبْتَ إِنَّمَا ذَلِکَ الْکَذِبُ عَلَی اللَّهِ و عَلَی رَسُولِهِ و عَلَی الْأَئِمَّة

Abu Basir said: 'I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Indeed, lying invalidates the fast! I asked: Which of us does not commit this act? The Imam replied: It is not as you think; indeed, it refers to lying against Allah, His Messenger, and the Imams (peace be upon them)!'

6⃣عن أحمد بن محمد بن عیسی عن بعض أصحابه رفعه إلی أبی عبداللَّه قال: ذُکِرَ الْحَائِکُ لِأَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ أَنَّهُ مَلْعُونٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ذَاکَ الَّذِی یَحُوکُ الْکَذِبَ عَلَی اللَّهِ و عَلَی رَسُولِه

It was mentioned to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) that a certain weaver was cursed. The Imam said: 'Indeed, it is the one who fabricates lies against Allah and His Messenger!'

7⃣عن عمران بن عَطِیَّة عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ فِی حَدِیثٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ یَا أَخَا أَهْلِ الشَّامِ اسْمَعْ حَدِیثَنَا وَ لَا تَکْذِبْ عَلَیْنَا فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ کَذَبَ عَلَیْنَا فی شَیْءٍ فَقَدْ کَذَبَ عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ و مَنْ کَذَبَ عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ کَذَبَ عَلَی اللَّهِ و مَنْ کَذَبَ عَلَی اللَّهِ عَذَّبَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 187

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to a man from Sham: 'O brother from Sham! Listen to our narration and do not attribute lies to us! For whoever attributes lies to us has surely lied against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and whoever lies against the Messenger of Allah has surely lied against Allah, and whoever lies against Allah, Allah Almighty will punish him!'

8⃣عن أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ قال: إِنَّ الْکَذِبَ هُوَ خَرَابُ الْإِیمَان

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed, lying is what destroys faith!'

✅ In the numerous verses and narrations, some of which were mentioned above, lying, particularly attributing lies to Allah, His Messenger, and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them all), is severely condemned, with warnings of punishment and Hellfire. The intention of making people cry does not justify fabricating lies.

Unfortunately, nowadays, in some pulpits and by some speakers, lies are attributed to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and the lack of those who forbid this evil has led to the spread and normalization of this practice.

It is hoped that the dissemination of these narrations will serve as a reminder for these individuals.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْعَافِیَةَ وَ النَّصْر
