1⃣کِتَابُ النَّوَادِرِ لِعَلِیِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ، عن بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ رَوَاهُ قَالَ إِنَّ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام قَالَ: کَانَ أَبِی مَبْطُوناً یَوْمَ قُتِلَ أَبُوهُ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِمَا وَ کَانَ فِی الْخَیْمَةِ وَ کُنْتُ أَرَی مَوَالِیَنَا کَیْفَ یَخْتَلِفُونَ مَعَهُ یُتْبِعُونَهُ بِالْمَاءِ یَشُدُّ عَلَی الْمَیْمَنَةِ مَرَّةً وَ عَلَی الْمَیْسَرَةِ مَرَّةً وَ عَلَی الْقَلْبِ مَرَّةً وَ لَقَدْ قَتَلُوهُ قَتْلَةً نَهَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله أَنْ یُقْتَلَ بِهَا الْکِلَابُ لَقَدْ قُتِلَ بِالسَّیْفِ و السِّنَانِ وَ بِالْحِجَارَةِ و بِالْخَشَبِ وَ بِالْعَصَا و لَقَدْ أَوْطَئُوهُ الْخَیْلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ.

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: On the day my father (peace be upon him) was martyred, he was suffering from a stomach illness and was in the tent. I saw our friends coming and going, asking him for water. At times, he attacked the right wing of the army, at other times the left wing, and sometimes the center of the army. They killed him in a manner that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) had forbidden even for dogs! Indeed, he was killed with swords, spears, stones, sticks, and clubs, and afterward, they trampled him with horses!

2⃣عن دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِی یَزِیدَ عَنْ أَبِی الْجَارُودِ وَ ابْنِ بُکَیْرٍ وَ بُرَیْدِ بْنِ مُعَاوِیَةَ الْعِجْلِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ الْبَاقِرِ علیه السلام قَالَ: أُصِیبَ الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ علیهما السلام وَ وُجِدَ بِهِ ثَلَاثُمِائَةٍ وَ بِضْعٌ وَ عِشْرُونَ طَعْنَةً بِرُمْحٍ أَوْ ضَرْبَةً بِسَیْفٍ أَوْ رَمْیَةً بِسَهْمٍ فَرُوِیَ أَنَّهَا کَانَتْ کُلُّهَا فِی مُقَدَّمِهِ لِأَنَّهُ علیه السلام کَانَ لَا یُوَلِّی

📚 Amali al-Saduq, Session 31

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) was martyred, and over three hundred and twenty places of spear thrusts, sword strikes, or arrow wounds were found on him. It is narrated that all of them were on the front of his body because he never turned his back (to the enemy)!

3⃣عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْداللَّهِ علیه السلام یَقُولُ: وُجِدَ بِالْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ علیهما السلام نَیِّفٌ وَسَبْعُونَ ضَرْبَةً بِالسَّیْفِ.

Mu'adh bin Muslim said: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Seventy-odd sword strikes were found on the body of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)!

4⃣عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام قَالَ: قُتِلَ الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ علیهما السلام وَ عَلَیْهِ جُبَّةُ خَزٍّ دَکْنَاءُ فَوَجَدُوا فِیهَا ثَلَاثَةً وَ سِتِّینَ مِنْ بَیْنِ ضَرْبَةٍ بِسَیْفٍ أَوْ طَعْنَةٍ بِرُمْحٍ أَوْ رَمْیَةٍ بِسَهْمٍ

📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 452

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Imam Hussain ibn Ali (peace be upon them) was martyred while wearing a jubbah (cloak and upper garment) made of khazz (a type of cloth) that was slightly black in color, and sixty-three sword or spear or arrow wounds were found on it!

✅ With endless sorrow and grief, it is seen in the above authentic narrations that the wretched followers of Yazid (may the curse of Allah be upon them all) martyred the master of the youth of Paradise and the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) with multiple blows of swords, spears, arrows, stones, sticks, and clubs. The total number of blows, according to narration 1⃣, was over 320, with more than seventy being sword strikes, and sixty-three of the blows causing splits in his cloak!

✅ These days, we are in the midst of and on the verge of various end-time calamities and are in dire need of divine mercy to protect us from these calamities.

On the other hand, one of the most recommended acts of mourning for our master Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is weeping and crying. Let us especially in these days of mourning for the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) and at all times, cry and make others cry over the tragedies of the family of Allah so that we may receive divine mercy. Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said in a narration:

لَوْ أَنَّ بَاکِیاً بَکَی فِی أُمَّةٍ لَرُحِمُوا.

📚 Thawab al-A'mal, p. 152

That is: If a single person in a community cries, (the entire community) receives mercy!
