1⃣حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِیلَ الرَّیَّانِ عَنْ یُونُسَ عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَبِی عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَنْ خَرَجَ فِی سَفَرٍ وَ مَعَهُ عَصَا لَوْزٍ مُرٍّ، وَ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآیَةَ- وَ لَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقاءَ مَدْیَنَ إِلَی قَوْلِهِ وَ اللَّهُ عَلی ما نَقُولُ وَکِیلٌ آمَنَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ کُلِّ سَبُعٍ ضَارٍ وَ کُلِّ لِصٍّ عَادٍ وَ کُلِّ ذَاتِ حُمَةٍ حَتَّی یَرْجِعَ إِلَی أَهْلِهِ وَ مَنْزِلِهِ وَ کَانَ مَعَهُ سَبْعَةٌ وَ سَبْعُونَ مِنَ الْمُعَقِّبَاتِ یَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ حَتَّی یَرْجِعَ وَ یَضَعَهَا.

وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ تَنْفِی الْفَقْرَ وَ لَا یُجَاوِرُهُ الشَّیْطَانُ.

وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ مَرِضَ آدَمُ مَرَضاً شَدِیداً أَصَابَتْهُ فِیهِ وَحْشَةٌ فَشَکَا ذَلِکَ إِلَی جَبْرَئِیلَ قَالَ لَهُ اقْطَعْ وَاحِدَةً مِنْهُ وَ ضُمَّهَا إِلَی صَدْرِکَ فَفَعَلَ فَأَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ الْوَحْشَةَ.

وَ قَالَ: مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ تُطْوَی لَهُ الْأَرْضُ فَلْیَتَّخِذِ النُّقُدَ مِنَ الْعَصَا وَ النُّقُدُ عَصَا لَوْزٍ مُرٍّ.

📚 *Thawab al-A'mal*, p. 215

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: My father narrated to me from his ancestors from Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever goes on a journey with a stick made from the wood of a bitter almond tree and recites the following verses (from Surah Al-Qasas):

وَ لَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقاءَ مَدْيَنَ قالَ عَسى رَبِّي أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِي سَواءَ السَّبِيلِ (۲۲) وَ لَمَّا وَرَدَ ماءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِنَ النَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَ وَجَدَ مِنْ دُونِهِمُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودانِ قالَ ما خَطْبُكُما قالَتا لا نَسْقِي حَتَّى يُصْدِرَ الرِّعاءُ وَ أَبُونا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ (۲۳) فَسَقى لَهُما ثُمَّ تَوَلَّى إِلَى الظِّلِّ فَقالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لِما أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ (۲۴) فَجاءَتْهُ إِحْداهُما تَمْشِي عَلَى اسْتِحْياءٍ قالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ ما سَقَيْتَ لَنا فَلَمَّا جاءَهُ وَ قَصَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَصَصَ قالَ لا تَخَفْ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ (۲۵) قالَتْ إِحْداهُما يا أَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الْأَمِينُ (۲۶) قالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنْكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هاتَيْنِ عَلى أَنْ تَأْجُرَنِي ثَمانِيَ حِجَجٍ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْراً فَمِنْ عِنْدِكَ وَ ما أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ (۲۷) قالَ ذلِكَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَكَ أَيَّمَا الْأَجَلَيْنِ قَضَيْتُ فَلا عُدْوانَ عَلَيَّ وَ اللَّهُ عَلى ما نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ (۲۸)

Allah will protect him from every predatory beast, every aggressive thief, every venomous creature, and until he returns to his family and home, seventy-seven angels will follow him, asking forgiveness for him until he places the stick on the ground!'

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) also said: 'It wards off poverty and prevents Satan from being near him!'

And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) became severely ill, and in his illness, he felt a great fear. He complained about this to Gabriel (peace be upon him), and Gabriel told him: 'Cut a piece of it (i.e., the bitter almond tree wood) and attach it to your chest.' He did so, and Allah Almighty removed the fear from him!'

And he said: 'Whoever wants the earth to contract for him should take a stick of Nukhud (a specific type of bitter almond tree wood), and the Nukhud stick is the wood from the bitter almond tree!'
