1⃣عن محمد بن سنان عَنِ الرِّضَا فِیمَا کَتَبَ إِلَیْهِ مِنْ جَوَابِ مَسَائِلِهِ فِی الْعِلَلِ وَ حَرَّمَ الْأَرْنَبَ لِأَنَّهَا بِمَنْزِلَةِ السِّنَّوْرِ وَ لَهَا مَخَالِیبُ کَمَخَالِیبِ السِّنَّوْرِ وَ سِبَاعِ الْوَحْشِ فَجَرَتْ مَجْرَاهَا مَعَ قَذَرِهَا فِی نَفْسِهَا وَ مَا یَکُونُ مِنْهَا مِنَ الدَّمِ کَمَا یَکُونُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ لِأَنَّهَا مَسْخٌ

Imam Reza, peace be upon him, in response to the questions of Muhammad ibn Sinan, said: "Allah has made the flesh of the hare haram because it resembles the cat and has teeth like those of a cat and wild animals, therefore it has continuous discharge and is equivalent to it, along with internal impurity and what is in its blood, and it becomes impure like women (menstruation) because it has been deformed!"

2⃣عن الحلبی عن أبی عبدالله قال إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ: کُلُّ ذِی نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ و مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّیْرِ حَرَامٌ و قَالَ لَا تَأْکُلْ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ شَیْئاً

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Every animal that has fangs from wild animals and every animal that has claws from birds is haram, and he said: Do not eat anything from wild animals!"

3⃣عن سماعة بن مهران عن أبي عبدالله في حديث قال حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ و رَسُولُهُ الْمُسُوخَ جَمِیعَهَا

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: "Allah and His Messenger have made all kinds of deformed creatures haram!"

4⃣عن محمد بن مسلم و زرارة عن أبی جعفر أَنَّهُمَا سَأَلَاهُ عَنْ أَکْلِ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِیَّةِ.... إلی أَنْ قَالَ و إِنَّمَا الْحَرَامُ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ فِی الْقُرْآن

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: "Any animal that is a herbivore, its dung is halal and its saliva is halal (pure)!"

Imam Reza, peace be upon him, in response to the questions of Muhammad ibn Sinan, said: "Eating the flesh of domesticated donkeys and mules is reprehensible due to people's need for riding and employing them and the fear of their destruction, not because of the impurity of their creation and the filthiness of their food!"

6⃣عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ أَنَّ الرِّضَا کَتَبَ إِلَیْهِ فِیمَا کَتَبَ مِنْ جَوَابِ مَسَائِلِهِ کُرِهَ أَکْلُ لُحُومِ الْبِغَالِ وَ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِیَّةِ لِحَاجَةِ النَّاسِ إِلَی ظُهُورِهَا وَ اسْتِعْمَالِهَا وَ الْخَوْفِ مِنْ فَنَائِهَا وَ قِلَّتِهَا لَا لِقَذَرِ خَلْقِهَا وَ لَا قَذَرِ غِذَائِهَا.

Amir al-Mu'minin, peace be upon him, said: "Refrain from all owners of fangs from wild animals and owners of claws from birds... Two communities of the Children of Israel were lost: one on land and one at sea! So do not eat except what you know!"

7⃣عَنْ عَلِیٍّ قَالَ: اتَّقُوا کُلَّ ذِی نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ وَ مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّیْرِ....فُقِدَتْ مِنْ بَنِی إِسْرَائِیلَ اُمَّتان وَاحِدَةٌ فِی الْبَرِّ وَ وَاحِدَةٌ فِی الْبَحْرِ فَلَا تَأْکُلُوا إِلَّا مَا عَرَفْتُمْ.

- Having fangs like those of a cat

✅ However, none of the general criteria and signs of prohibition apply to the giraffe, and the cleanliness and permissibility of its flesh and saliva can to some extent indicate the permissibility of its meat.

✅ However, the absence of specific mention of the permissibility of its meat in narrations and the lack of a general narration that conclusively includes the permissibility of giraffe meat leaves room for caution in consuming the meat of this animal.
