Question 1768: What is the ruling on buying kilogram packages from Amazon that contain unspecified items?

✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

📚 Al-Khisal, Page 46, Hadith 45

Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, considered two types of transactions as disliked:

One is when the seller says: State the price and take it without examining the goods thoroughly (to have a precise understanding of it)!

The other is buying something you have not seen!

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 7, Page 9

Abdullah ibn Ali reported: I informed Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, that he disliked buying something that one has not seen!

✅ It is mentioned that the Amazon website has kilogram packages consisting of electrical appliances, etc., that are sold, and the buyer is not informed of the contents until after the purchase and receipt of the item!

The above narrations indicate that the infallible Imams, peace be upon them, disliked buying something that has not been seen, and even something that has not been thoroughly examined for details. Based on these narrations, transactions like these are considered disliked according to the teachings of the infallible Imams, peace be upon them.
