1⃣عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ یَحْیَی عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: نِعْمَ الْبَقْلَةُ السِّلْقُ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 369

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: Turnip, especially its leaves, is a good vegetable and plant.

2⃣عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی نَصْرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ لِی أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا یَا أَحْمَدُ کَیْفَ شَهْوَتُکَ لِلْبَقْلَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّی لَأَشْتَهِی عَامَّتَهُ فَقَالَ إِذَا کَانَ کَذَلِکَ فَعَلَیْکَ بِالسِّلْقِ فَإِنَّهُ یَنْبُتُ عَلَی شَاطِئِ الْفِرْدَوْسِ وَ فِیهِ شِفَاءٌ مِنَ الْأَدْوَاءِ وَ هُوَ یُغَلِّظُ الْعَظْمَ وَ یُنْبِتُ اللَّحْمَ وَ لَوْ لَا أَنْ تَمَسَّهُ أَیْدِی الْخَاطِئِینَ لَکَانَتِ الْوَرَقَةُ مِنْهُ تَسْتُرُ رِجَالًا قُلْتُ مِنْ أَحَبِّ الْبُقُولِ إِلَیَّ فَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ عَلَی مَعْرِفَتِکَ بِهِ.

قَالَ وَ فِی حَدِیثٍ آخَرَ یَشُدُّ الْعَقْلَ وَ یُصَفِّی الدَّمَ.

📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 519

Ahmad ibn Muhammad narrated: Imam Reza (peace be upon him) said to me: How is your desire and inclination towards vegetables? I said: I have a desire for most of them! The Imam said: If that's the case, may turnip leaves be beneficial for you, as it grows on the edges of Paradise and contains healing for pains. It strengthens bones and makes flesh robust. If the sinners could not reach it, one leaf of it would cover a man!

I said: It is one of the most beloved vegetables to me! The Imam said: Praise Allah for your understanding of it!

And in another narration, he said: It strengthens the intellect and purifies the blood!

3⃣عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: أَطْعِمُوا مَرْضَاکُمُ السِّلْقَ یَعْنِی وَرَقَهُ فَإِنَّ فِیهِ شِفَاءً وَ لَا دَاءَ مَعَهُ وَ لَا غَائِلَةَ لَهُ وَ یُهْدِئُ نَوْمَ الْمَرِیضِ وَ اجْتَنِبُوا أَصْلَهُ فَإِنَّهُ یُهَیِّجُ السَّوْدَاءَ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 369

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: Have the patients eat turnip, meaning its leaves, for it contains healing, is free from any harm, and soothes the patient's sleep. Avoid its root, as it stimulates black bile!

4⃣عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ السِّلْقَ یَقْمَعُ عِرْقَ الْجُذَامِ وَ مَا دَخَلَ جَوْفَ الْمُبَرْسَمِ مِثْلُ وَرَقِ السِّلْقِ.

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: Turnip destroys leprosy veins, and nothing like the turnip leaf enters the stomach of the patient!

5⃣ أَبِی عُثْمَانَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّه قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ رَفَعَ عَنِ الْیَهُودِ الْجُذَامَ بِأَکْلِهِمُ السِّلْقَ وَ قَلْعِهِمُ الْعُرُوقَ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 369

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah, the Almighty, took leprosy away from the Jews because of eating turnip and drawing veins (from the meat).

6⃣ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَیْسٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ إِنَّ بَنِی إِسْرَائِیلَ شَکَوْا إِلَی مُوسَی مَا یَلْقَوْنَ مِنَ الْبَیَاضِ فَشَکَا ذَلِکَ إِلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَأَوْحَی اللَّهُ إِلَیْهِ مُرْهُمْ بِأَکْلِ لَحْمِ الْبَقَرِ بِالسِّلْقِ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 369

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, the Children of Israel complained to Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) about leprosy. So, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) complained to Allah, the Almighty. Allah then revealed to him to command them to eat the meat of a cow along with turnip!

7⃣عَنْ أَبِی الصَّبَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: مَرَقُ السِّلْقِ بِلَحْمِ الْبَقَرِ یَذْهَبُ بِالْبَیَاضِ.

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, the broth of turnip with cow's meat eradicates leprosy veins!
