Question 1722: What are the supplications during Wudu (ablution)?
✅ Answer: Please consider the following narrations:
1⃣ Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: One day, while Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) was sitting with Muhammad bin Hanfiyyah, he suddenly said: 'O Muhammad! Bring me a vessel of water so I can perform Wudu for prayer!'
Then Muhammad brought a vessel of water to him. The Imam poured water on his left hand with his right hand and said:
He then performed Istinja (cleaning himself) and said:
He then gargled and said:
He then inhaled water through his nose and said:
He then washed his face and said:
He then washed his right hand and said:
He then washed his left hand and said:
He then wiped his head and said:
He then, while wiping his feet, said:
He then raised his head, looked at Muhammad, and said: 'O Muhammad! Whoever performs Wudu like mine and says what I have said, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will create an angel from every drop of water, who will glorify and praise Allah and say Takbir, and Allah will write the reward for that person until the Day of Judgment!'

📚 Al-Khisal, Vol. 2, p. 165.
Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) said: A person should not perform Wudu until they say 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah). Before reaching the water, they should say:
And when they complete their Wudu, they should say:
Then, at that moment, they become deserving of forgiveness!
📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 430
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: When one of you performs Wudu and does not say 'Bismillah,' Satan shares in his Wudu. So, if he eats, drinks, or wears something, or does any other action, it is proper to say 'Bismillah,' and if he does not do so, Satan shares in that action!
📚 Mustadrak al-Wasa'il, Vol. 1, p. 321
Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi once after performing Wudu, Allah, the Almighty, will reward him with the reward of forty years, raise him forty levels, and marry him to forty Hoor al-Ayn (women of Paradise)!
