Question 1717: If the time for prayer comes during the Tawaf and a person is forced or chooses to interrupt their Tawaf to perform the obligatory prayer, should they restart the Tawaf from the beginning or continue from where they left off?
✅ Answer: Please refer to the following narrations:
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 415
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said regarding a person who is performing Tawaf and the time for the obligatory prayer arrives: He should interrupt the Tawaf, perform the obligatory prayer, and then return and complete the remaining part of his Tawaf!
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 415
Abdullah bin Sinan says: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a person who is in the middle of Tawaf when the prayer time arrives; the Imam said: He prays the obligatory prayer with them, and when he is finished, he continues from where he left off in his Tawaf!
✅ Based on the above narrations and others, if the time for prayer comes during Tawaf, the person interrupts their Tawaf, performs the prayer, and then continues their Tawaf after the prayer.
