1⃣عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِیَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی نَصْرٍ عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: حَصَی الْجِمَارِ تَکُونُ مِثْلَ الْأَنْمُلَةِ وَ لَا تَأْخُذْهَا سَوْدَاءَ وَ لَا بَیْضَاءَ وَ لَا حَمْرَاءَ خُذْهَا کُحْلِیَّةً مُنَقَّطَةً.

📚 Al-Kafi, Volume 4, Page 478

Imam Abul-Hasan (peace be upon him) said: The pebbles for Jamarat should be the size of a fingertip (the first segment of a finger where the nail is). Do not take black, white, or red stones; take dark, speckled stones!

2⃣عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ یَحْیَی عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ یَقُولُ الْتَقِطِ الْحَصَی وَ لَا تَکْسِرَنَّ مِنْهُنَّ شَیْئاً.

Abu Basir says: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Pick up the pebbles from the ground and never break any of them!
