1⃣مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ الْحَضْرَمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ قَالَ: رَجَعْتُ مِنْ مَکَّةَ فَلَقِیتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ مُوسَی فِی الْمَسْجِدِ وَ هُوَ قَاعِدٌ فِیمَا بَیْنَ الْقَبْرِ وَ الْمِنْبَرِ فَقُلْتُ یَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ إِنِّی إِذَا خَرَجْتُ إِلَی مَکَّةَ رُبَّمَا قَالَ لِیَ الرَّجُلُ طُفْ عَنِّی أُسْبُوعاً وَ صَلِّ رَکْعَتَیْنِ فَأَشْتَغِلُ عَنْ ذَلِکَ فَإِذَا رَجَعْتُ لَمْ أَدْرِ مَا أَقُولُ لَهُ قَالَ إِذَا أَتَیْتَ مَکَّةَ فَقَضَیْتَ نُسُکَکَ فَطُفْ أُسْبُوعاً وَ صَلِّ رَکْعَتَیْنِ ثُمَّ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا الطَّوَافَ وَ هَاتَیْنِ الرَّکْعَتَیْنِ عَنْ أَبِی وَ أُمِّی وَ عَنْ زَوْجَتِی وَ عَنْ وُلْدِی وَ عَنْ حَامَّتِی وَ عَنْ جَمِیعِ أَهْلِ بَلَدِی حُرِّهِمْ وَ عَبْدِهِمْ وَ أَبْیَضِهِمْ وَ أَسْوَدِهِمْ فَلَا تَشَاءُ أَنْ قُلْتَ لِلرَّجُلِ إِنِّی قَدْ طُفْتُ عَنْکَ وَ صَلَّیْتُ عَنْکَ رَکْعَتَیْنِ إِلَّا کُنْتَ صَادِقاً فَإِذَا أَتَیْتَ قَبْرَ النَّبِیِّ فَقَضَیْتَ مَا یَجِبُ عَلَیْکَ فَصَلِّ رَکْعَتَیْنِ ثُمَّ قِفْ عِنْدَ رَأْسِ النَّبِیِّ ثُمَّ قُلْ السَّلَامُ عَلَیْکَ یَا نَبِیَّ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَبِی وَ أُمِّی وَ زَوْجَتِی وَ وُلْدِی وَ جَمِیعِ حَامَّتِی وَ مِنْ جَمِیعِ أَهْلِ بَلَدِی حُرِّهِمْ وَ عَبْدِهِمْ وَ أَبْیَضِهِمْ وَ أَسْوَدِهِمْ فَلَا تَشَاءُ أَنْ تَقُولَ لِلرَّجُلِ إِنِّی أَقْرَأْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَنْکَ السَّلَامَ إِلَّا کُنْتَ صَادِقاً.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 317

Ibrahim al-Hadhrami said: I returned from Mecca and met Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) while he was sitting between the grave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the pulpit. I said to the Imam: O son of the Messenger of Allah! When I go to Mecca, many people may ask me to perform Tawaf on their behalf and offer two rak'ah prayers. But I get busy and when I return, I don't know what to tell them!

The Imam said: When you come to Mecca and complete your own rituals, then perform seven rounds of Tawaf and offer two rak'ah prayers, and then say:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا الطَّوَافَ وَ هَاتَیْنِ الرَّکْعَتَیْنِ عَنْ أَبِی وَ أُمِّی وَ عَنْ زَوْجَتِی وَ عَنْ وُلْدِی وَ عَنْ حَامَّتِی وَ عَنْ جَمِیعِ أَهْلِ بَلَدِی حُرِّهِمْ وَ عَبْدِهِمْ وَ أَبْیَضِهِمْ وَ أَسْوَدِهِمْ

That is: 'O Allah! Indeed, this Tawaf and these two rak'ahs are on behalf of my father, my mother, my wife, my children, my relatives, my close ones, and all the people of my city, both the free and the slaves, the white and the black!'

Then, you will not tell anyone that you performed the Tawaf and offered two rak'ah prayers on their behalf unless you are truthful!

And when you reach the grave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and have performed what is obligatory upon you, then offer two rak'ah prayers, stand by the head of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and say:

السَّلَامُ عَلَیْکَ یَا نَبِیَّ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَبِی وَ أُمِّی وَ زَوْجَتِی وَ وُلْدِی وَ جَمِیعِ حَامَّتِی وَ مِنْ جَمِیعِ أَهْلِ بَلَدِی حُرِّهِمْ وَ عَبْدِهِمْ وَ أَبْیَضِهِمْ وَ أَسْوَدِهِمْ

That is: 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, from my father, my mother, my wife, my children, all my relatives, my close ones, and from all the people of my city, both the free and the slaves, the white and the black!'

Then, you will not tell anyone that you sent peace to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on their behalf unless you have spoken the truth!

✅ By following the guidance of Imam Kazim (peace be upon him), we can perform the Tawaf and offer two rak'ah prayers on behalf of all our close ones and the people of our city and tell them that we performed the Tawaf on their behalf!
