Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: When a child is circumcised, the person should recite this prayer:

اللَّهُمَّ هَذِهِ سُنَّتُکَ وَ سُنَّةُ نَبِیِّکَ صلی الله علیه و آله وَ اتِّبَاعٌ مِنَّا لَکَ وَ لِدِینِکَ بِمَشِیَّتِکَ وَ بِإِرَادَتِکَ لِأَمْرٍ أَرَدْتَهُ وَ قَضَاءٍ حَتَمْتَهُ وَ أَمْرٍ أَنْفَذْتَهُ فَأَذَقْتَهُ حَرَّ الْحَدِیدِ فِی خِتَانِهِ وَ حِجَامَتِهِ لِأَمْرٍ أَنْتَ أَعْرَفُ بِهِ مِنِّی اللَّهُمَّ فَطَهِّرْهُ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَ زِدْ فِی عُمُرِهِ وَ ادْفَعِ الْآفَاتِ عَنْ بَدَنِهِ وَ الْأَوْجَاعَ عَنْ جِسْمِهِ وَ زِدْهُ مِنَ الْغِنَی وَ ادْفَعْ عَنْهُ الْفَقْرَ فَإِنَّکَ تَعْلَمُ وَ لَا نَعْلَمُ

The narrator said: The Imam said: Whoever does not recite this prayer during the circumcision of their child, should recite it before their child reaches the age of puberty and maturity. If this prayer is recited, the child will be protected from the heat (impact and cut) of iron, whether it be from being killed by iron or injured by iron or other forms of harm.
