Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih, vol. 1, p. 122
Translation: The Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, said: 'Dyeing hair is the way of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, and it is from the Sunnah.'
📚 Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih, vol. 1, p. 122
Translation: Muhammad ibn Muslim asked Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, about dyeing hair. The Imam said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his family, used to dye his hair, and this is his hair which is with us.'
📚 Man La Yahduruhu, vol. 1, p. 122
Translation: Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: 'All dyeing (of hair) is not problematic.'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 480
Translation: Hafs said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, about dyeing the head and beard, whether it is from the Sunnah.' He said: 'Yes.'
📚 Thawab al-A'mal, p. 39
Translation: Imam Kazim, peace be upon him, said: 'Dyeing with black color is an adornment for women and a humiliation for the enemy.'
✅ Many narrations have been reported in praise of dyeing hair in general, and it is not possible to mention all of them in this brief response. The Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, used to dye their hair with various plants, including henna, katam, and wasma, and there is no prohibition against dyeing white or other hair with black, yellow, or other colors. What is condemned regarding white hair is mentioned in the following narrations:
📚 Khisal, p. 612
Translation: Ali, peace be upon him, said in the Four Hundred Sayings: 'Do not pluck out white hair, for it is the light of a Muslim, and whoever has a hair turn white in Islam, it will be a light for him on the Day of Judgment.'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 492
Translation: Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: 'The Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, saw no problem with trimming and shortening white hair, but he considered plucking it out disliked (makrooh).'
✅ Of course, permission to pluck out white hair has also been reported in hadiths, but the prohibition of this act is also clearly established in the narrations.
