1⃣عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: الطَّوَافُ الْمَفْرُوضُ إِذَا زِدْتَ عَلَیْهِ مِثْلُ الصَّلَاةِ فَإِذَا زِدْتَ عَلَیْهَا فَعَلَیْکَ الْإِعَادَةُ وَ کَذَا السَّعْیُ.

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: If you add to the obligatory Tawaf, it is like adding to the obligatory prayer! So, if you add to it, you must repeat it, and the same applies to Sa'i (between Safa and Marwah)!

2⃣عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ أَبِی إِبْرَاهِیمَ فِی رَجُلٍ سَعَی بَیْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ ثَمَانِیَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ مَا عَلَیْهِ فَقَالَ إِنْ کَانَ خَطَأً اطَّرَحَ وَاحِداً وَ اعْتَدَّ بِسَبْعَةٍ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 436

Someone asked Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) about a person who performs eight rounds of Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. The Imam said: If it was done by mistake, they should disregard one of them and count seven rounds!

3⃣ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: إِنَّ فِي كِتَابِ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ إِذَا طَافَ اَلرَّجُلُ بِالْبَيْتِ ثَمَانِيَةَ أَشْوَاطٍ اَلْفَرِيضَةَ وَ اِسْتَيْقَنَ ثَمَانِيَةً أَضَافَ إِلَيْهَا سِتّاً وَ كَذَا إِذَا اِسْتَيْقَنَ أَنَّهُ سَعَى ثَمَانِيَةً أَضَافَ إِلَيْهَا سِتّاً

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 5, p. 152

Imam Baqir or Imam Sadiq (peace be upon them) said: It is written in the book of Imam Ali (peace be upon him): When a person performs the obligatory Tawaf and mistakenly does eight rounds and is certain of it, they add six more rounds, and the same applies if they are certain they performed eight rounds of Sa'i, they add six more rounds!

4⃣عَنْ جَمِیلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ قَالَ: حَجَجْنَا وَ نَحْنُ صَرُورَةٌ فَسَعَیْنَا بَیْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ شَوْطاً فَسَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ذَلِکَ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ سَبْعَةٌ لَکَ وَ سَبْعَةٌ تَطْرَحُ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 436

Jamil ibn Darraj said: We went for Hajj for the first time and mistakenly performed fourteen rounds of Sa'i between Safa and Marwah! We asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about this, and the Imam said: There is no problem! Seven rounds count for you, and you disregard the additional seven rounds!

5⃣عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ قَالَ: سَعَيْتُ بَيْنَ اَلصَّفَا وَ اَلْمَرْوَةِ أَنَا وَ عُبَيْدُ اَللَّهِ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ تَحَفَّظْ عَلَيَّ فَجَعَلَ يَعُدُّ ذَاهِباً وَ جَائِياً شَوْطاً وَاحِداً فَبَلَغَ بِنَا مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ كَيْفَ تَعُدُّ قَالَ ذَاهِباً وَ جَائِياً شَوْطاً وَاحِداً فَأَتْمَمْنَا أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ شَوْطاً فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فَقَالَ قَدْ زَادُوا عَلَى مَا عَلَيْهِمْ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِمْ شَيْءٌ

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 5, p. 152

Hisham ibn Salim said: I and Ubaydullah ibn Rashid performed Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. I told him: Keep count of the rounds for me! He counted each round back and forth as one round, and we ended up completing fourteen rounds! We mentioned this to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), and the Imam said: They added more than what was required! There is nothing upon them!

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, the number of rounds for Sa'i between Safa and Marwah is seven, and if someone intentionally performs more than seven rounds, their Sa'i is invalid, and they must repeat it.

✅ However, if more than seven rounds are performed accidentally or due to a counting mistake, they disregard the additional rounds and count seven rounds for their obligatory Sa'i.
