Translation: Hisham said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): One of our companions has wheat and barley on his rooftop, and they walk on it and pray on it (how is this act?). Hisham said: The Imam became angry and said: If I did not see that he is from our companions, I would have certainly cursed him.

عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ لَا يُوضَعُ الرَّغِيفُ تَحْتَ الْقَصْعَةِ.

Translation: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Bread should not be placed under a bowl.

Translation: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: Honor and respect the bread. It was said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the honoring of bread? He said: When it is placed on the tablecloth, nothing else should be expected. And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: From the respect and honoring of bread is that it should not be stepped on or cut with a knife.

Translation: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: Do not cut the bread with a knife but rather break it, and it will be broken for you; (in this way) oppose the Ajam.

✅Many narrations have been reported about the honoring of bread, but the case mentioned in the person's question has not been specifically or generally forbidden. Therefore, there is no problem with it because Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:

كُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ مُطْلَقٌ حَتَّى يَرِدَ فِيهِ نَهْيٌ

📚Man La Yahduruhu al-Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 317

Translation: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: All things are absolute until a prohibition is reported about them.
