✅ Answer: Consider the following narrations:

1⃣عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَنْ کَانَتْ لَهُ دَارٌ فَاحْتَاجَ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَی سُکْنَاهَا فَمَنَعَهُ إِیَّاهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَلَائِکَتِی أَ بَخِلَ عَبْدِی عَلَی عَبْدِی بِسُکْنَی الدُّنْیَا وَ عِزَّتِی لَا یَسْکُنُ جِنَانِی أَبَداً.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 367

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Anyone who owns a house and denies it to a believer in need of accommodation, Allah the Almighty says: "O My angels! Is My servant stingy with the worldly home towards another servant of Mine? By My honor, I swear that they will never reside in My Paradise!"'

2⃣عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ أَحْنَفَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أَیُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَنَعَ مُؤْمِناً شَیْئاً مِمَّا یَحْتَاجُ إِلَیْهِ وَ هُوَ یَقْدِرُ عَلَیْهِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَیْرِهِ أَقَامَهُ اللَّهُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَةِ مُسْوَدّاً وَجْهُهُ مُزْرَقَّةً عَیْنَاهُ مَغْلُولَةً یَدَاهُ إِلَی عُنُقِهِ فَیُقَالُ هَذَا الْخَائِنُ الَّذِی خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ ثُمَّ یُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَی النَّارِ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 2, p. 367

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Any believer who denies another believer something they need, while they have the means to provide it, either personally or through others, will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment with a blackened face, blind eyes, and their hands shackled around their neck. It will be said: "This is a traitor who betrayed Allah and His Messenger!" They will then be commanded to be thrown into the fire.'

✅ Based on the above and other narrations, denying a believer something they need, while we have the means to provide it, leads to severe and dire consequences.

✅ Therefore, if a believer is in need of our additional house, we have no right to deny them access to it for reasons such as their inability to pay the customary rent. Evicting them from the house would subject us to the punishments described in the above narrations and others.

✅ O owners of extra houses! In these difficult economic times, do not deny your worldly surplus housing to believers and Shias of Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him). Provide it for their use, and if you prevent them without a valid religious excuse, according to narration 1⃣, Allah has sworn by His honor that He will deny you residence in His Paradise, as you were stingy with the worldly home towards a believer in need.

✅ Religious prohibitions are not limited to alcohol, gambling, and usury. Many prohibitions exist within the narrations of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them), but because they are not explicitly mentioned in religious rulings as forbidden, they are often taken lightly and not even considered sins. Those who take their duty to learn the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt seriously will become aware of them.

🔸 Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Among the obligatory rights of a believer is to respond to their invitation!'

🔹عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا الْعِرَاقِيِّينَ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّه مِنْ أَعْجَزِ الْعَجْزِ رَجُلٌ دَعَاهُ أَخُوهُ إِلَى طَعَامٍ فَتَرَكَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ عِلَّة

🔸 The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: 'The weakest of the weak is one whose brother invites them for food, and they decline without a valid reason!'

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him)

From Imam Baqir (peace be upon him),

It is narrated that his father, Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him), said:

'O my son, consider and avoid five types of people for companionship, conversation, and even walking the same path!'

I asked: 'O my father, who are they?'

He said:

'Avoid the company of a liar, for they are like a mirage. They make the distant seem near and the near seem distant!'

'Avoid the company of a transgressor (a sinner), for they may sell you for a morsel of food or less!'

'Avoid the company of a stingy person, for they will abandon you regarding their wealth when you are in the greatest need!'

'Avoid the company of a fool, for they intend to benefit you but end up harming you!'

'Avoid the company of one who severs family ties, for I have found them cursed in three places in the Book of Allah the Almighty and Glorious.'

'Allah the Almighty said: "Do you then expect, if you turn away, that you will spread corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship? These are the ones whom Allah has cursed, making them deaf and blind." (Muhammad: 22–23)'

'He also said: "Those who break the covenant of Allah after having pledged it, sever what Allah has ordered to be joined, and spread corruption on earth—on them is a curse, and for them is the evil abode." (Al-Ra’d: 25)'

'And He said in Al-Baqarah: "Those who break the covenant of Allah after having pledged it, sever what Allah has ordered to be joined, and spread corruption on earth—they are the losers." (Al-Baqarah: 27)'

یَا بُنَیَّ انْظُرْ خَمْسَةً فَلَا تُصَاحِبْهُمْ وَ لَا تُحَادِثْهُمْ وَ لَا تُرَافِقْهُمْ فِی طَرِیقٍ

فَقُلْتُ یَا أَبَتِ مَنْ هُمْ قَالَ

إِیَّاکَ وَ مُصَاحَبَةَ الْکَذَّابِ فَإِنَّهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ السَّرَابِ یُقَرِّبُ لَکَ الْبَعِیدَ وَ یُبَاعِدُ لَکَ الْقَرِیبَ

وَ إِیَّاکَ وَ مُصَاحَبَةَ الْفَاسِقِ فَإِنَّهُ بَائِعُکَ بِأُکْلَةٍ أَوْ أَقَلَّ مِنْ ذَلِکَ

وَ إِیَّاکَ وَ مُصَاحَبَةَ الْبَخِیلِ فَإِنَّهُ یَخْذُلُکَ فِی مَالِهِ أَحْوَجَ مَا تَکُونُ إِلَیْهِ

وَ إِیَّاکَ وَ مُصَاحَبَةَ الْأَحْمَقِ فَإِنَّهُ یُرِیدُ أَنْ یَنْفَعَکَ فَیَضُرُّکَ

وَ إِیَّاکَ وَ مُصَاحَبَةَ الْقَاطِعِ لِرَحِمِهِ فَإِنِّی وَجَدْتُهُ مَلْعُوناً فِی کِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِی ثَلَاثِ مَوَاضِعَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ

فَهَلْ عَسَیْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّیْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِی الْأَرْضِ وَ تُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحامَکُمْ- أُولئِکَ الَّذِینَ لَعَنَهُمُ

اللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَ أَعْمی أَبْصارَهُمْ [۲]

وَ قَالَ الَّذِینَ یَنْقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مِیثاقِهِ وَ یَقْطَعُونَ ما أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْ یُوصَلَ وَ یُفْسِدُونَ فِی الْأَرْضِ أُولئِکَ لَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِ [۳]

وَ قَالَ فِی الْبَقَرَةِ الَّذِینَ یَنْقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مِیثاقِهِ وَ یَقْطَعُونَ ما أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْ یُوصَلَ وَ یُفْسِدُونَ فِی الْأَرْضِ أُولئِکَ هُمُ الْخاسِرُونَ

ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ: مَنِ اسْتَدَانَ دَيْناً فَلَمْ يَنْوِ قَضَاءَهُ كَانَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ السَّارِقِ

إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ بَسَّام قال: قَال أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السُّرَّاقُ ثَلَاثَةٌ مَانِعُ الزَّكَاةِ وَ مُسْتَحِلُّ مُهُورِ النِّسَاءِ وَ كَذَلِكَ مَنِ اسْتَدَانَ دَيْناً وَ لَمْ يَنْوِ قَضَاءَهُ

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَشْکُو إِلَیْکَ فَقْدَ نَبِیِّنَا وَ غَیْبَةَ وَلِیِّنَا وَ شِدَّةَ الزَّمَانِ عَلَیْنَا وَ وُقُوعَ الْفِتَنِ بِنَا وَ تَظَاهُرَ الْأَعْدَاءِ وَ کَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا وَ قِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا اللَّهُمَّ فَافْرِجْ ذَلِکَ بِفَتْحٍ مِنْکَ تُعَجِّلُهُ وَ بِصَبْرٍ مِنْکَ تُیَسِّرُهُ وَ إِمَامِ عَدْلٍ تُظْهِرُهُ إِلَهَ الْحَقِّ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِینَ
