Question 14: If a woman is menstruating during a solar or lunar eclipse, is it necessary for her to make up the missed Salat al-Ayat after she becomes pure?
✅ Answer:
Imam Reza (peace be upon him) wrote in his letter to Mamun: A menstruating woman (during her menstrual period) leaves the prayer and does not make it up, and she also leaves fasting but makes it up later.
📚 Uyun Akhbar al-Ridha, Volume 2, Page 124
In many narrations, it has been stated in general that a menstruating woman does not make up her prayer, and the apparent meaning applies to all prayers. There is no specific narration regarding making up Salat al-Ayat, so a menstruating woman does not need to make up Salat al-Ayat after she becomes pure.
