هَلْ جَاءَ فِی الْرِّوایاتِ عِلَّةُ وُجُودِ الْخَبَلِ و الجُنُونِ و النُقْصَان فِی المَولُود؟

✅ Answer: Please refer to the following narrations:

1⃣عن الصَّادِقِ عَنْ آبَائِه قال: قال رَسُولُ اللَّه فی حَدِیثٍ و کُرِهَ أَنْ یَغْشَی الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ و قَدِ احْتَلَمَ حَتَّی یَغْتَسِلَ مِنِ احْتِلَامِهِ الَّذِی رَأَی فَإِنْ فَعَلَ و خَرَجَ الْوَلَدُ مَجْنُوناً فَلَا یَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَه

📚 *Faqih, vol. 3, p. 557*

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When a man experiences nocturnal emission, it is inappropriate for him to engage in intercourse with his wife until he performs the ritual washing (ghusl) from the emission. So, if he does this and the child is born insane, he should blame no one but himself!

2⃣عن أَبی الْحَسَنِ مُوسَی عن أَبِیهِ عن جَدِّهِ قال فِیمَا أَوْصَی بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلِیّاً قال: یا عَلِیُّ لَا تُجَامِعْ أَهْلَکَ فِی أَوَّلِ لَیْلَةٍ مِنَ الْهِلَالِ و لَا فِی لَیْلَةِ النِّصْفِ و لا فی آخِرِ لَیْلَةٍ فَإِنَّهُ یُتَخَوَّفُ عَلَی وَلَدِ مَنْ یَفْعَلُ ذَلِکَ الْخَبَلُ فقال علی و لم ذاک یا رسول الله فقال إن الجن یکثرون غشیان نسائهم فی أول لیلة من الهلال و لیلة النصف و فی آخر لیلة أ ما رأیت المجنون یصرع فی أول الشهر و فی وسطه و فی آخره

📚 *Al-Kafi, vol. 5, p. 499*

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that in what the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) advised Imam Ali (peace be upon him), he said: O Ali! Do not engage in intercourse with your wife on the first night of the lunar month, on the middle night, or on the last night of the month. This is because there is a fear that the child born from such an act will suffer from mental and physical corruption!

Then Imam Ali (peace be upon him) asked: Why, O Messenger of Allah? He replied: Because jinn frequently engage in intercourse with their wives on the first night, the middle night, and the last night of the lunar month! Do you not see that the insane person suffers from seizures at the beginning, middle, and end of the month?

3⃣ *Narrated by Mus'ah Abu Siyyar from Abu Abdullah*: The Messenger of Allah said: It is disliked for my followers to engage in intercourse with their wives during the middle of the month or at the start of the lunar crescent because the rebellious jinn and devils approach human beings and drive them to madness and confusion.

📚 *Al-Kafi, vol. 5, p. 499*

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: I find it inappropriate for my followers to engage in intercourse with their wives during the middle of the month and at the beginning of the lunar month, as the rebellious devils and jinn approach human beings, causing them to go insane and corrupt their minds and bodies!

4⃣ *Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said*: Do not engage in intercourse at the beginning, middle, or end of the lunar month. Anyone who does this should be prepared for miscarriage. If the child survives, it is likely to be insane.

📚 *Faqih, vol. 3, p. 403*

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Do not engage in intercourse at the beginning, middle, or end of the lunar month with your wife because anyone who does so should expect a miscarriage, and if the child survives, it is close to being insane!

5⃣ *Ali bin Muhammad al-Askari narrated from his father, from his ancestors*: It is disliked for a man to engage in intercourse with his wife on the first, middle, or last night of the lunar month. Anyone who does this will have a child born insane...

📚 *Ilal al-Sharai', p. 514*

Imam Hadi (peace be upon him) narrated from his father, from his ancestors, that he said: It is disliked for a man to engage in intercourse on the first, middle, or last night of the lunar month because anyone who does this will have a child born insane...

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, if a man experiences nocturnal emission and engages in intercourse before performing the ritual washing (ghusl), or engages in intercourse on the first, middle, or last night of the lunar month and a child is conceived, the child may suffer from various types of insanity, mental or cognitive defects, and confusion (the corruption of mind and body).

✅ Today, people, due to ignorance of these narrations and the promotion of the solar calendar and the lack of reminders from scholars who call people to obedience, as well as the unawareness of the lunar calendar and not giving importance to this issue, give birth to children with mental and intellectual defects like Down syndrome, or physical defects, and sometimes commit crimes by aborting them!

✅ This is one of the many harms caused by distancing people from the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and neglecting to act upon their instructions!

✅ The excuse that 'we don't want children and are using contraception' does not negate the prohibition of intercourse during these times, as many times, an unintended pregnancy occurs.

✅ Do you know that nearly half of every month is a time when intercourse is prohibited and poses significant risks??!

Woe to those who distance people from the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)!
