Praying for the reappearance of our master (peace be upon him) is essential for many reasons, including:

1. Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) said in a narration:

وَ اللَّهِ لَیَغِیبَنَّ غَیْبَةً لَا یَنْجُو فِیهَا مِنَ التَّهْلُکَةِ إِلَّا مَنْ یُثْبِتُهُ اللَّهُ عَلَی الْقَوْلِ بِإِمَامَتِهِ وَ وَفَّقَهُ لِلدُّعَاءِ بِتَعْجِیلِ فَرَجِهِ

Translation:

"By Allah, my son will certainly go into occultation—a disappearance during which no one will be saved from destruction except the one whom Allah keeps steadfast in belief in his Imamate and grants success in praying for the hastening of his reappearance."

2. Our master Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him) said in a letter:

وَ أَکْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ بِتَعْجِیلِ الْفَرَجِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِکَ فَرَجُکُمْ

Translation:

"Pray often for the hastening of the reappearance, for it is your relief."
