Answer

✅ Answer: Consider the following narrations:

Translation: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said in a narration: ... Then Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, revealed the Hanifiyyah (pure monotheism) to Prophet Abraham (peace be upon our Prophet and his family and upon him), which consists of ten things: five related to the head and five related to the body. Those related to the head are trimming the mustache, letting the beard grow, cutting and shaving the hair, brushing the teeth, and using a toothpick. Those related to the body are removing body hair, circumcision, trimming the nails, performing the ritual bath for major impurity (ghusl janabah), and purification with water. These are the outward characteristics of the easy and lenient Hanifiyyah that Prophet Abraham (peace be upon our Prophet and his family and upon him) brought, which have not been abrogated and will not be abrogated until the Day of Judgment.

Translation: Bashir Nabbal says in a narration: Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) entered the bathhouse and tied a cloth (izar) around himself, covering his knees and navel. Then he instructed the bathhouse attendant to apply depilatory paste (noorah) to the parts of his body outside the cloth. Afterward, he told the attendant to leave, and the Imam himself applied the depilatory paste to the areas under the cloth with his own hand. He then said to me: You should do the same.

Translation: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Four things are from the morals of the prophets: using pleasant fragrances, cleaning with a razor, removing body hair with depilatory paste (noorah), and frequent intimacy.

✅ As is evident from the above narrations, removing body hair from the neck downward using depilatory paste or shaving is a practice established in the tradition. In particular, the removal of pubic and underarm hair has been emphasized in narrations.

Although each part of the head and body has its own specific rulings and characteristics, the permissibility—and indeed, the tradition—of removing hand hair, especially with depilatory paste, is established, and no distinction has been mentioned between men and women in this regard.
