1 قال أبو عبد الله الحسين بن أحمد بن المغيرة الثلاج سمعت طاهر بن العباس يقول سمعت محمد بن الفضل الكوفي يقول سمعت الحسن بن علي الجعفري يحدث عن أبيه عن جعفر بن محمد قال قال لي أبي محمد بن علي یَا بُنَیَّ لَا تَتْرُکَنَّ أَنْ تُصَلِّیَ کُلَّ لَیْلَةٍ بَیْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ مِنْ لَیَالِی عَشْرِ ذِی الْحِجَّةِ رَکْعَتَیْنِ تَقْرَأُ فِی کُلِّ رَکْعَةٍ فَاتِحَةَ الْکِتَابِ وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَ هَذِهِ الْآیَةَ وَ واعَدْنا مُوسی ثَلاثِینَ لَیْلَةً وَ أَتْمَمْناها بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِیقاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِینَ لَیْلَةً وَ قالَ مُوسی لِأَخِیهِ هارُونَ اخْلُفْنِی فِی قَوْمِی وَ أَصْلِحْ وَ لا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِیلَ الْمُفْسِدِینَ فَإِذَا فَعَلْتَ ذَلِکَ شَارَکْتَ الْحَاجَّ فِی ثَوَابِهِمْ وَ إِنْ لَمْ تَحُجَّ.

📚 Al-Iqbal, p. 317

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: My father, Imam Baqir (peace be upon him), said: 'O my son! Never neglect to perform a two-rak'ah prayer during the nights of the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, between the Maghrib and Isha prayers. In each rak'ah, recite Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad once, and then recite the following verse:'

وَ واعَدْنا مُوسی ثَلاثِینَ لَیْلَةً وَ أَتْمَمْناها بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِیقاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِینَ لَیْلَةً وَ قالَ مُوسی لِأَخِیهِ هارُونَ اخْلُفْنِی فِی قَوْمِی وَ أَصْلِحْ وَ لا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِیلَ الْمُفْسِدِینَ

'And We appointed with Musa thirty nights, and We completed them with ten [more], so the appointed time of his Lord was forty nights. And [Musa] said to his brother Harun, 'Take my place among my people, and correct [their affairs], and do not follow the way of the corrupters.'' (Surah Al-A'raf, 7:142)

'So if you do so, you will share in the reward with the pilgrims, even if you have not performed Hajj!'

✅ The mentioned verse, which is recited in each rak'ah after Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Tawhid, is verse 142 of Surah Al-A'raf.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْعَافِیَةَ وَ النَّصْر

✅ The prayer mentioned above, which is performed during the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah between the Maghrib and Isha prayers, is separate from the nawafil (supererogatory) prayers of Maghrib.
