Imam Baqir, peace be upon him, said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: No structure in Islam is more beloved to Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, than marriage!

2⃣عَنْ عَلِيٍّ فِي حَدِيثِ الْأَرْبَعِمِائَةِ قَالَ: تَزَوَّجُوا فَإِنَّ التَّزْوِيجَ سُنَّةُ رَسُولِ اللَّه فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ مَنْ كَانَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَتَّبِعَ سُنَّتِي فَإِنَّ مِنْ سُنَّتِيَ التَّزْوِيجَ وَ اطْلُبُوا الْوَلَدَ فَإِنِّي مُكَاثِرٌ بِكُمُ الْأُمَمَ غَداً

Amir al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him, said: Marry, for indeed marriage is the tradition and way of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. He used to say: Whoever loves to follow my tradition, then marriage is part of my tradition. Seek children, for I will take pride in your numbers over other nations on the Day of Judgment!

3⃣ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْداللَّه رَكْعَتَانِ يُصَلِّيهِمَا الْمُتَزَوِّجُ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ رَكْعَةً يُصَلِّيهَا أَعْزَبُ

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Two units of prayer performed by a married person are better than seventy units of prayer performed by an unmarried person!

4⃣عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْداللَّه قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى أَبِي فَقَالَ لَهُ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ زَوْجَةٍ قَالَ لَا فقال أَبِي مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِيَ الدُّنْيَا وَ مَا فِيهَا وَ إِنِّي بِتُّ لَيْلَةً وَ لَيْسَتْ لِي زَوْجَةٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ الرَّكْعَتَانِ يُصَلِّيهِمَا رَجُلٌ مُتَزَوِّجٌ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ رَجُلٍ أَعْزَبَ يَقُومُ لَيْلَهُ وَ يَصُومُ نَهَارَهُ ثُمَّ أَعْطَاهُ أَبِي سَبْعَةَ دَنَانِيرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْ بِهَذِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبِي قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّه اتَّخِذُوا الْأَهْلَ فَإِنَّهُ أَرْزَقُ لَكُمْ

📚 Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 329

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: A man came to my father, and he asked him: Do you have a wife? The man said: No! My father then said: I would not like to have the world and all that is in it if it meant spending a single night without a wife! Then he said: Two units of prayer performed by a married person are better than an unmarried man who stands in worship at night and fasts during the day! Then my father gave him seven gold dinars and said: Marry with these seven dinars. He then said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Take wives, for they bring you more sustenance!

5⃣ عَنْ كُلَيْبِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْأَسَدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْداللَّه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّه مَنْ تَزَوَّجَ أَحْرَزَ نِصْفَ دِينِهِ وَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ فَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ فِي النِّصْفِ الْآخَرِ أَوِ الْبَاقِي

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Whoever marries has secured half of his religion. In another narration, he said: So, he should adopt God-consciousness (taqwa) regarding the other half or the remainder!

6⃣عَنْ وَلِيدِ بْنِ صَبِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْداللَّه قَالَ: مَنْ تَرَكَ التَّزْوِيجَ مَخَافَةَ الْعَيْلَةِ فَقَدْ أَسَاءَ بِاللَّهِ الظَّنَّ

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Whoever abandons marriage out of fear of poverty and hardship has surely harbored ill thoughts about Allah!

7⃣ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْداللَّه الْحَدِيثُ الَّذِي يَرْوِيهِ النَّاسُ حَقٌّ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ الْحَاجَةَ فَأَمَرَهُ بِالتَّزْوِيجِ فَفَعَلَ ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ الْحَاجَةَ فَأَمَرَهُ بِالتَّزْوِيجِ حَتَّى أَمَرَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْداللَّه [نَعَمْ‏] هُوَ حَقٌّ ثُمَّ قَالَ الرِّزْقُ مَعَ النِّسَاءِ وَ الْعِيَالِ

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 330

Ishaq ibn Ammar says: I said to Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him: Is the narration that people transmit true—that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, complaining of poverty and need, so the Messenger of Allah ordered him to marry, and he did so, then returned complaining again of poverty and need, and he ordered him to marry again until he ordered him three times? He said: Yes, it is true! Then he said: Sustenance comes with wives and dependents!
