📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 152

Imam Sadiq (prayers of Allah be upon him) said: 'When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) wanted to break his fast, he would start with sweets and break his fast with them, so if he did not find them, he would break his fast with a piece of sugar or a few dates, and if none of these were found, he would break his fast with lukewarm boiled water, and he would say: It purifies the stomach and the liver, and it makes the breath fragrant, and it strengthens the teeth, and it strengthens the sight, and it cleanses the vision, and it washes away sins, and it calms the agitated veins and the غالب (dominant) bile (or melancholy), and it cuts phlegm, and it extinguishes the heat from the stomach, and it removes headaches!'

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 314

Imam Sadiq (prayers of Allah be upon him) said: 'There are two things that are righteous and good that never enter a sick stomach unless they heal it, and there are two things that are corrupt that never enter a healthy stomach unless they corrupt it!'

'As for the two righteous and healthy things, they are pomegranate and lukewarm boiled water, and the two corrupt things are cheese and dried meat!'

✅ To repel the harm of cheese, there are solutions mentioned in the narrations.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 315

Imam Sadiq (prayers of Allah be upon him) said: 'There are three things that are not eaten but they fatten, and there are three things that are eaten but they make one thin, and there are two things that are beneficial for everything and do no harm, and there are two things that are harmful for everything and do no good:'

'As for the things that are not eaten but they fatten, they are: wearing a linen undershirt, perfume, and depilatory powder.'

'As for the things that are eaten and make one thin, they are: dried meat, cheese, and the date palm flower bud, and in another hadith, carrots and sesame pulp are mentioned.'

'As for the two things that are beneficial for everything and do no harm, they are: lukewarm boiled water and pomegranate.'

'As for the two things that are harmful for everything and do no good, they are: dried meat and cheese!'

The narrator said: I said: 'May I be sacrificed for you; there you said they make one thin and here you said they are harmful!' The Imam said: 'Do you not know that thinness is one of the harms!'

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 4, p. 152

📚 Makarem al-Akhlaq, p. 157

📚 Amali al-Tusi, Vol. 1, p. 379

Imam Sajjad (prayers of Allah be upon him) said: 'There are two things that do not enter any stomach unless they heal it: pomegranate and lukewarm boiled water.'

✅ According to the above narrations and others, lukewarm boiled water has many properties for both breaking the fast and as a general substance that is harmless and only beneficial and causes the inside to be healed.

✅ As stated in most of the books of language and as some narrations also allude to, 'ma'a fatir' refers to water that, after being boiled, stops boiling and becomes lukewarm and tepid by remaining or being transferred from one container to another, and what a few rare individuals have said, that 'ma'a fatir' is cold water that is heated slightly until its coldness is gone and it becomes lukewarm, is wrong, rather 'ma'a fatir' is water that is boiled and then becomes tepid and lukewarm.
