Dhikr prayer

✅Hawqala or Hawlaqah refers to the Dhikr 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no might and no power except with Allah), for which multiple rewards and properties have been mentioned in narrations:

1 الحسین بْنِ عُلْوان الْکَلْبِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ تَفْسِیرِ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ- قَالَ لَا یَحُولُ بَیْنَنَا وَ بَیْنَ الْمَعَاصِی إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ لَا یُقَوِّینَا عَلَی أَدَاءِ الطَّاعَةِ وَ الْفَرَائِضِ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

📚Al-Mahasin p. 42

Husayn ibn Alwan said: I asked Imam al-Baqir, blessings of God be upon him, about the interpretation of 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah'; the Imam said: (It means) no one prevents us from sins except Allah, and no one gives us the strength to perform obedience and carry out duties except Allah!

2 عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّه عَنْ آبَائِهِ قَالَ فِی حَدِیثٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَنْ أَلَحَّ عَلَیْهِ الْفَقْرُ فَلْیُکْثِرْ مِنْ قَوْلِ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ یَنْفِی عَنْهُ الْفَقْر

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, said: Whoever is persistent in poverty should say a lot: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' until poverty goes away from him!

3 عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّه قال: قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِذَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ فَوَّضَ أَمْرَهُ إِلَی اللَّهِ وَ حَقٌّ عَلَی اللَّهِ أَنْ یَکْفِیَهُ

📚Al-Mahasin p. 42

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, said: When a servant says: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah,' he has entrusted his affair to Allah, and it is a right upon Allah to suffice him!

4 عن هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّه الصَّادِقِ قال: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِنَّ آدَمَ شَکَا إِلَی اللَّهِ مَا یَلْقَی مِنْ حَدِیثِ النَّفْسِ وَ الْحُزْنِ فَنَزَلَ عَلَیْهِ جَبْرَئِیلُ فَقَالَ لَهُ یَا آدَمُ قُلْ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فَقَالَهَا فَذَهَبَ عَنْهُ الْوَسْوَسَةُ وَ الْحُزْنُ

📚Amali al-Saduq p. 436

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, said: Indeed, Adam, peace be upon him, complained to Allah about the inner thoughts and sadness that had befallen him. So Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended to him and said to him: O Adam! Say: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. So he said it, and the temptation and sadness left him!

5 عن هِشَامِ بْنِ احمر قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عبدالله یَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیمِ دَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِهَا عَنْهُ تِسْعَةً وَ سَبعِینَ نَوْعاً مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ أَیْسَرُهَا الْخَنْقُ

📚Thawab al-A'mal p. 194

Hisham said: I heard Imam al-Sadiq, blessings of God be upon him, say: Whoever says:

لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیمِ

Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, will ward off 79 types of calamities from him, the least of which is suffocation!

6 عن مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ قَالَ قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ: قَوْلُ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فِيهَا شِفَاءٌ مِنْ تِسْعَةٍ وَ تِسْعِينَ دَاءً أَدْنَاهَا الْهَمُ

📚Qurb al-Isnad p. 37

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, said: In the saying 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' there is a cure for 99 ailments, the least of which is grief!

7 عَنِ الرِّضَا عَنْ آبَائِهِ علیهم السلام قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله: مَنْ حَزَنَهُ أَمْرٌ فَلْیَقُلْ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, said: Whoever is saddened by a matter should say: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah

8 جابر عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام قال قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله: مَنْ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِیمِ- وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیمِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ کَفَاهُ اللَّهُ تِسْعَةً وَ تِسْعِینَ نَوْعاً مِنْ أَنْوَاعِ الْبَلَاءِ أَیْسَرُهَا الْخَنْقُ

📚Al-Mahasin p. 41

The Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, said: Whoever says three times:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِیمِ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیمِ

Allah will suffice him from 99 types of calamities, the least of which is suffocation!
