📚Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 7, p. 409

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: There is no 'walima' except in five cases: 'urs', or 'khurs', or 'idhar', or 'wikar', or 'rikaz'!

As for 'urs', it is marriage; and 'khurs', it is the birth of a child; and 'idhar', it is circumcision; and 'wikar', it is for a person who buys a house; and 'rikaz', it is for a person who returns from Mecca!

📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 281

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: The 'walima' is in four cases: in marriage, and 'khurs', which is the newborn for whom 'aqiqa' is performed and food is given, and 'idhar', which is the circumcision of a boy, and for return, when a person returns from a journey and invites his brothers!

Kulaini said: In another narration, it is mentioned: or 'tawkir', which is building a house and other things!

📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 299

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: Whoever builds and constructs a dwelling, he should slaughter a fat ram and feed its meat to the poor, and then say:

Meaning: 'O Allah! Keep the rebellious jinn and humans away from me and grant us blessings in our homes!'

For indeed, what he has asked for will be granted to him!

📚Man La Yahduruhu Al-Faqih, Vol. 4, p. 257

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) narrated from his father, from his grandfather, from Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said to him: 'O Ali! I command you with a will, so preserve (and act upon) it, for as long as you act upon my will, you will always be in a state of good!' Until he said: 'O Ali! There is no 'walima' except in five cases: in 'urs', or 'khurs', or 'idhar', or 'wikar', or 'rikaz'!

As for 'urs', it is marriage

and 'khurs', it is the birth of a child

and 'idhar', it is circumcision

and 'wikar', it is building a house and buying a house

and 'rikaz', it is for a person who returns from Mecca!
