✅ Answer: In narrations attributed to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), there are phrases for seeking permission to enter the shrine of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him). A portion of the following narration is mentioned:

1️⃣ Safwan said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) for permission to visit my master, Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), and asked him to show me how to do it.'

The Imam said: 'O Safwan! Before you go, fast for three days. On the third day, perform a full-body ritual wash (ghusl), then gather your family and say:

Then when you reach the Euphrates, say:

Then perform ghusl from the Euphrates, for my father narrated to me from his ancestors that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'Indeed, this son of mine, Husayn, will be killed by the river Euphrates after me. So whoever visits him and performs ghusl from the Euphrates, his sins will fall away from him like the day his mother gave birth to him!'

So when you want to perform ghusl, say:

After you have finished ghusl, wear two clean garments and pray two rak'ahs of prayer outside the riverbank... and when you have finished your prayer, turn towards the sacred precinct (al-Ha'ir al-Husayni) and walk with calmness and dignity, and take short steps, for Allah Almighty will write a Hajj and an Umrah for you with every step you take. Walk with humility and tearful eyes, and frequently say: 'Allah is the Greatest,' 'There is no god but Allah,' and praise Allah Almighty, and send blessings upon His Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), and send blessings upon Husayn (peace be upon him), and curse his killer, and renounce the one who laid the foundation for it. When you reach the gate of the precinct, stand and say:

Then say:

This is followed by the permission-seeking part:

Meaning: 'O master of the successors, shall I enter? O Fatima! O master of the women of the worlds, shall I enter? O my master! O Aba Abdillah, shall I enter? O my master! O son of the Messenger of Allah, shall I enter?'

If your heart then becomes humble and tears flow from your eyes, that is a sign of permission to enter, so enter and say:

...until the end of the pilgrimage supplication...

✅ It is observed that in this seeking of permission to enter the shrine of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), the sign of permission is the heart becoming humble and tears flowing from the eyes!
