Merit of the supplication of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)

1 أَحْمَدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الدَّوَالِیبِیُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِی عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ علیهم السلام قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَی رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله وَ عِنْدَهُ أُبَیُّ بْنُ کَعْبٍ فَقَالَ لِی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله مَرْحَباً بِکَ یَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ یَا زَیْنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرَضِینَ قَالَ لَهُ أُبَیُّ وَ کَیْفَ یَکُونُ یَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَیْنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ غَیْرُکَ فَقَالَ یَا أُبَیُّ وَ الَّذِی بَعَثَنِی بِالْحَقِّ نَبِیّاً إِنَّ الْحُسَیْنَ بْنَ عَلِیٍّ فِی السَّمَاءِ أَکْبَرُ مِنْهُ فِی الْأَرْضِ وَ إِنَّهُ لَمَکْتُوبٌ عَنْ یَمِینِ عَرْشِ اللَّهِ مِصْبَاحُ هُدًی وَ سَفِینَةُ نَجَاةٍ وَ إِمَامُ خَیْرٍ وَ یُمْنٍ وَ عِزٌّ وَ فَخْرٌ وَ عِلْمٌ وَ ذُخْرٌ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ رَکَّبَ فِی صُلْبِهِ نُطْفَةً طَیِّبَةً مُبَارَکَةً زَکِیَّةً وَ لَقَدْ لُقِّنَ دَعَوَاتٌ مَا یَدْعُو بِهِنَّ مَخْلُوقٌ إِلَّا حَشَرَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَعَهُ وَ کَانَ شَفِیعَهُ فِی آخِرَتِهِ وَ فَرَّجَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ کَرْبَهُ وَ قَضَی بِهَا دَیْنَهُ وَ یَسَّرَ أَمْرَهُ وَ أَوْضَحَ سَبِیلَهُ وَ قَوَّاهُ عَلَی عَدُوِّهِ وَ لَمْ یَهْتِکْ سِتْرَهُ.فَقَالَ لَهُ أُبَیُّ بْنُ کَعْبٍ مَا هَذِهِ الدَّعَوَاتُ یَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ تَقُولُ إِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِکَ وَ أَنْتَ قَاعِدٌ :

( اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْأَلُکَ بِکَلِمَاتِکَ وَ مَعَاقِدِ عَرْشِکَ وَ سُکَّانِ سَمَاوَاتِکَ وَ أَنْبِیَائِکَ وَ رُسُلِکَ أَنْ تَسْتَجِیبَ لِی فَقَدْ رَهِقَنِی مِنْ أَمْرِی عُسْراً فَأَسْأَلُکَ أَنْ تُصَلِّیَ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِی مِنْ أَمْرِی یُسْراً )

فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ یُسَهِّلُ أَمْرَکَ وَ یَشْرَحُ صَدْرَکَ وَ یُلَقِّنُکَ شَهَادَةَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ عِنْدَ خُرُوجِ نَفْسِكَ....

Imam Jawad (prayers of God be upon him) narrated from his ancestors that Imam Hussein (prayers of God be upon him) said: I entered upon the Messenger of God (prayers of God be upon him and his family) while Ubayy ibn Ka'b was with him. The Messenger of God (prayers of God be upon him and his family) said to me: 'Welcome, O Aba Abdillah! O ornament of the heavens and the earths!'

Ubayy ibn Ka'b said: 'O Messenger of God! How can anyone other than you be the ornament of the heavens and the earth?' He said: 'O Ubayy! I swear by the one who sent me as a Prophet in truth, Hussein ibn Ali is greater in the heavens than on the earth, and indeed on the right side of the Throne of God is written that he is the lamp of guidance and the ark of salvation, and the Imam of goodness and blessing, and the Imam of might and the Imam of honor and knowledge and a treasure. And indeed, God has placed in his loins a pure, blessed, and clean seed, and indeed, supplications have been inspired to him that no created being recites them except that God, the Almighty and Glorious, will resurrect him with Hussein (prayers of God be upon him),

and he will be his intercessor in the afterlife,

and God will remove his distress,

and will pay his debt for him,

and will make his matter easy,

and will illuminate his path,

and will strengthen him against his enemy,

and will not tear his veil!'

Ubayy ibn Ka'b said to him: 'What are these supplications?'

He said: 'After the prayer, while sitting, you say: '

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّی أَسْأَلُکَ بِکَلِمَاتِکَ وَ مَعَاقِدِ عَرْشِکَ وَ سُکَّانِ سَمَاوَاتِکَ وَ أَنْبِیَائِکَ وَ رُسُلِکَ أَنْ تَسْتَجِیبَ لِی فَقَدْ رَهِقَنِی مِنْ أَمْرِی عُسْراً فَأَسْأَلُکَ أَنْ تُصَلِّیَ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِی مِنْ أَمْرِی یُسْراً

چرا که اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ کار تو را آسان می کند

and He will give you an open heart,

and at the time of your soul's departure, He will inspire you to testify to 'La ilaha illa Allah' (There is no god but God)!

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

وَ عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْعَافِیَةَ وَ النَّصْرَ
