✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

1 عَنْ رَوْحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: تِسْعَةُ أَعْشَارِ الرِّزْقِ فِي التِّجَارَةِ.

📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 3, p. 233

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Nine-tenths of sustenance is in trade!'

2 عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ الْبَرَكَةُ عَشَرَةُ أَجْزَاءٍ تِسْعَةُ أَعْشَارِهَا فِي التِّجَارَةِ وَ الْعُشْرُ الْبَاقِي فِي الْجُلُودِ.

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 445, hadith 44

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'Blessing is in ten parts! Nine-tenths of it is in trade, and the remaining one-tenth is in sheep!''

3 عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ: تِسْعَةُ أَعْشَارِ الرِّزْقِ فِي التِّجَارَةِ وَ الْجُزْءُ الْبَاقِي فِي السَّابِيَاءِ يَعْنِي الْغَنَمَ.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'Nine-tenths of sustenance is in trade, and the remaining one-tenth is in 'sabia', meaning sheep!'

4 عَنْ عَلِيٍّ فِي حَدِيثِ الْأَرْبَعِمِائَةِ قَالَ: تَعَرَّضُوا لِلتِّجَارَاتِ فَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهَا غِنًى عَمَّا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْتَرِفَ الْأَمِينَ

📚 Al-Khisal, p. 621, hadith 10

Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: 'Expose yourselves to trades, for in it there is independence for you from what is in the hands of people, and indeed Allah, the Almighty and Glorious, loves the trustworthy professional!'

5 عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: مَنْ طَلَبَ التِّجَارَةَ اسْتَغْنَى عَنِ النَّاسِ قُلْتُ وَ إِنْ كَانَ مُعِيلًا قَالَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ مُعِيلًا إِنَّ تِسْعَةَ أَعْشَارِ الرِّزْقِ فِي التِّجَارَةِ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 148

Muhammad Za'farani said: 'Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever seeks trade becomes independent of people!''

I said: 'Even if he has a large family (i.e., many dependents)?' He said: 'Even if he has a large family. Indeed, nine-tenths of sustenance is in trade!'

6 عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ أَبِي قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي حَدِيثٍ أَنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ لِلْمَوَالِي اتَّجِرُوا بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ الرِّزْقُ عَشَرَةُ أَجْزَاءٍ تِسْعَةُ أَجْزَاءٍ فِي التِّجَارَةِ وَ وَاحِدٌ فِي غَيْرِهَا.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 318

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) used to say to his friends: 'Trade and buy and sell, (so that) Allah may bless you, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) say: 'Sustenance is ten parts, and nine of its parts are in trade, and one part is in other things!''

7 عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: سُئِلَ النَّبِیُّ أَیُّ الْمَالِ خَیْرٌ قَالَ الزَّرْعُ زَرَعَهُ صَاحِبُهُ وَ أَصْلَحَهُ وَ أَدَّی حَقَّهُ یَوْمَ حَصَادِهِ قَالَ فَأَیُّ الْمَالِ بَعْدَ الزَّرْعِ خَیْرٌ قَالَ رَجُلٌ فِی غَنَمٍ لَهُ قَدْ تَبِعَ بِهَا مَوَاضِعَ الْقَطْرِ یُقِیمُ

الصَّلَاةَ وَ یُؤْتِی الزَّکَاةَ قَالَ فَأَیُّ الْمَالِ بَعْدَ الْغَنَمِ خَیْرٌ قَالَ الْبَقَرُ تَغْدُو بِخَیْرٍ وَ تَرُوحُ بِخَیْرٍ قَالَ فَأَیُّ الْمَالِ بَعْدَ الْبَقَرِ خَیْرٌ قَالَ الرَّاسِیَاتُ فِی الْوَحَلِ وَ الْمُطْعِمَاتُ فِی الْمَحْلِ نِعْمَ الشَّیْ ءُ النَّخْلُ مَنْ بَاعَهُ فَإِنَّمَا ثَمَنُهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ رَمَادٍ عَلَی رَأْسِ شَاهِقٍ اشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ الرِّیحُ فِی یَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ إِلَّا أَنْ یُخْلِفَ مَکَانَهَا....

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 260

A question was asked to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family): 'What is the best wealth?' He said: 'Cultivation and planting that its owner plants and improves, and he gives its due on the day of harvest!'

He said: 'After cultivation and planting, what is the best wealth?' He said: 'A man who is in his flock of sheep and goes with them to places where rain falls and establishes the prayer and pays the zakat!'

He said: 'After sheep, what is the best wealth?' He said: 'A cow that starts the day with good and ends the day with good (its milk is milked morning and night)!'

He said: 'After cows, what is the best wealth?' He said: 'Those that are deep in the mud and those that give food in times of famine and drought. What a good thing a palm tree is! Whoever sells it, its price is like ashes on a mountaintop on a stormy day that the wind blows on, unless he replaces it...'

8 عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْغَنَمِ وَ الْحَرْثِ فَإِنَّهُمَا يَغْدُوَانِ بِخَيْرٍ وَ يَرُوحَانِ بِخَيْرٍ.

📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 643

Ali (peace be upon him) said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: 'You must have sheep and cultivation, for these two start the day with good and end the day with good!''

9 وَ رُوِیَ أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: الْکِیمِیَاءُ الْأَکْبَرُ الزِّرَاعَةُ

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 261

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The greatest alchemy is agriculture (farming)!'

10 عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ الْوَاسِطِيِّ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْفَلَّاحِينَ فَقَالَ هُمُ الزَّارِعُونَ كُنُوزُ اللَّهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ وَ مَا فِي الْأَعْمَالِ شَيْءٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الزِّرَاعَةِ وَ مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ نَبِيّاً إِلَّا زَرَّاعاً إِلَّا إِدْرِيسَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ خَيَّاطاً.

📚 Al-Tahdhib, Vol. 6, p. 384

Yazid ibn Harun al-Wasiti said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about farmers.' He said: 'They are the planters who are the treasures of Allah on earth. Among the professions, there is nothing more beloved to Allah than agriculture and farming. And Allah did not send any prophet unless he was a farmer, except for Idris, for indeed he was a tailor!'

1 1 عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ الزَّارِعُونَ كُنُوزُ الْأَنَامِ يَزْرَعُونَ طَيِّباً أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ وَ هُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ مَقَاماً وَ أَقْرَبُهُمْ مَنْزِلَةً يُدْعَوْنَ الْمُبَارَكِينَ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 261

Yazid ibn Harun said: 'I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: 'Farmers are the treasures of the creation who plant the good things that Allah, the Almighty and Glorious, has created. And they are the best of people in position on the Day of Judgment and have the closest status and are called blessed!'

2 1 عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ اخْتَارَ لِأَنْبِيَائِهِ الْحَرْثَ وَ الزَّرْعَ كَيْ لَا يَكْرَهُوا شَيْئاً مِنْ قَطْرِ السَّمَاءِ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 260

Muhammad ibn Atiyyah said: 'I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: 'Indeed, Allah, the Almighty and Glorious, has chosen planting and agriculture for the prophets so that they do not dislike anything from the rain of the sky!'

3 1 قَالَ الصَّادِقُ : مَنْ لَزِمَ التِّجَارَةَ اسْتَغْنَى عَنِ النَّاسِ

📚 Al-Muqni', p. 122

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever adheres to trade (buying and selling) becomes independent of people!'

✅ In the above narrations and others, the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) have specifically recommended the professions of: trade and buying and selling, agriculture, sheep herding, cattle herding, etc. However, trade and buying and selling have been recommended the most.

✅ But since trade and other praised professions are not available for some, it is appropriate that we pay attention to the following narration:

4 1 عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: كُلُّ مَا افْتَتَحَ الرَّجُلُ بِهِ رِزْقَهُ فَهُوَ تِجَارَةٌ.

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 305

Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him) said: 'Whatever a person uses to earn his livelihood is trade!'

✅ We should also pay attention to the following narration:

5 1 قَالَ الصَّادِقُ مَنْ أَرَادَ التِّجَارَةَ فَلْيَتَفَقَّهْ فِي دِينِهِ لِيَعْلَمَ بِذَلِكَ مَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ مِمَّا يَحْرُمُ عَلَيْهِ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يَتَفَقَّهْ فِي دِينِهِ ثُمَّ اتَّجَرَ تَوَرَّطَ فِي الشُّبُهَاتِ.

📚 Al-Muqna'ah, p. 91

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever intends to trade must have a deep understanding of his religion so that he may know what is lawful for him from what is unlawful for him. And whoever does not have a deep understanding of his religion and then trades will fall into the abyss of doubts!'
