1 مَیْمُونٍ الْبَانِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّادِقِ علیه السلام قَالَ: خَمْسٌ قَبْلَ قِیَامِ الْقَائِمِ علیه السلام الْیَمَانِیُّ وَ السُّفْیَانِیُّ وَ الْمُنَادِی یُنَادِی مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ خَسْفٌ بِالْبَیْدَاءِ وَ قَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الزَّکِیَّةِ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:

Five (events) will occur before the rise of the Qa'im (peace be upon him), including: the emergence of the Yamani, the emergence of the Sufyani, a caller announcing from the sky, the sinking in the desert of Bayda (a place approximately one farsakh from Medina where the Sufyani's army will sink into the ground and perish), and the killing of the Pure Soul (Nafs Zakiyyah).

Maymun Ban says: I was with Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) in a tent when the Imam lifted the side of the tent and said: Indeed, when our matter comes, it will be clearer than this sun. Then he said: A caller will announce from the sky that so-and-so, son of so-and-so, is the Imam, mentioning his name, and Iblis (cursed be he) will also call from the earth, just as he called out to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) on the night of Aqaba!

2 عَنْ مَیْمُونٍ الْبَانِ قَالَ: کُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام فِی فُسْطَاطِهِ فَرَفَعَ جَانِبَ الْفُسْطَاطِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَمْرَنَا لَوْ قَدْ کَانَ لَکَانَ أَبْیَنَ مِنْ هَذَا الشَّمْسِ ثُمَّ قَالَ یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ هُوَ الْإِمَامُ بِاسْمِهِ وَ یُنَادِی إِبْلِیسُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ کَمَا نَادَی بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله لَیْلَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The cry that occurs in the month of Ramadan will be on the night of Friday, after twenty-three nights of Ramadan have passed!

3 عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْمُغِیرَةِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ قَالَ: الصَّیْحَةُ الَّتِی فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ تَکُونُ لَیْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ لِثَلَاثٍ وَ عِشْرِینَ مَضَیْنَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

Zurara says: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: A caller will announce the name of the Qa'im (peace be upon him). I asked: Is it specific (heard by a select group) or general? He said: General! Every people will hear it in their own language! I said: Then who will oppose the Qa'im when his name is announced? He said: Iblis will not leave them alone until he calls out at the end of the night (or day), causing people to fall into doubt!

4 عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ: یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ بِاسْمِ الْقَائِمِ علیه السلام قُلْتُ خَاصٌّ أَوْ عَامٌّ قَالَ عَامٌّ یَسْمَعُ کُلُّ قَوْمٍ بِلِسَانِهِمْ قُلْتُ فَمَنْ یُخَالِفُ الْقَائِمَ عَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ وَ قَدْ نُودِیَ بِاسْمِهِ قَالَ لَا یَدَعُهُمْ إِبْلِیسُ حَتَّی یُنَادِیَ فِی آخِرِ اللَّیْلِ [النهار] فَیُشَکِّکُ النَّاسَ.

Mu'alla ibn Khunays says: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The sound (voice) of Jibril is from the sky, and the sound of Iblis is from the earth. So follow the first sound and beware of being led astray by the second!

5 عَنِ الْمُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْداللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ: صَوْتُ جَبْرَئِیلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ صَوْتُ إِبْلِیسَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَاتَّبِعُوا الصَّوْتَ الْأَوَّلَ وَ إِیَّاکُمْ وَ الْأَخِیرَ أَنْ تُفْتَنُوا بِهِ.

Hisham ibn Salim says: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: There are two cries: one at the beginning of the night and another at the end of the second night! I said: How so? He said: One is from the sky, and the other is from Iblis. I said: How is one distinguished from the other (truth from falsehood)? He said: Those who have heard of it before it occurs will recognize it!

6 عنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام یَقُولُ: هُمَا صَیْحَتَانِ صَیْحَةٌ فِی أَوَّلِ اللَّیْلِ وَ صَیْحَةٌ فِی آخِرِ اللَّیْلَةِ الثَّانِیَةِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ کَیْفَ ذَلِکَ فَقَالَ وَاحِدَةٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ وَاحِدَةٌ مِنْ إِبْلِیسَ فَقُلْتُ کَیْفَ تُعْرَفُ هَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ فَقَالَ یَعْرِفُهَا مَنْ کَانَ سَمِعَ بِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَکُونَ.

📚 Al-Ghayba lil-Nu'mani

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: The cry occurs only in the month of Allah, Ramadan, and it is the cry of Jibril upon this creation. Then he said: A caller from the sky will announce the name of the Qa'im, so everyone in the West and the East will hear it. No sleeper will remain but will awaken, no standing person will remain but will sit, and no sitting person will remain but will stand on their feet, out of fear and terror of that sound!

7 عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام في حديث ثُمَّ قَالَ الصَّیْحَةُ لَا تَکُونُ إِلَّا فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرِ اللَّهِ وَ هِیَ صَیْحَةُ جَبْرَئِیلَ إِلَی هَذَا الْخَلْقِ ثُمَّ قَالَ یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِاسْمِ الْقَائِمِ علیه السلام فَیَسْمَعُ مَنْ بِالْمَشْرِقِ وَ مَنْ بِالْمَغْرِبِ لَا یَبْقَی رَاقِدٌ إِلَّا اسْتَیْقَظَ وَ لَا قَائِمٌ إِلَّا قَعَدَ وَ لَا قَاعِدٌ إِلَّا قَامَ عَلَی رِجْلَیْهِ فَزَعاً مِنْ ذَلِکَ الصَّوْتِ فَرَحِمَ اللَّهُ مَنِ اعْتَبَرَ بِذَلِکَ الصَّوْتِ فَأَجَابَ فَإِنَّ الصَّوْتَ الْأَوَّلَ هُوَ صَوْتُ جَبْرَئِیلَ الرُّوحِ الْأَمِینِ وَ قَالَ علیه السلام الصَّوْتُ فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِی لَیْلَةِ جُمُعَةٍ لَیْلَةِ ثَلَاثٍ وَ عِشْرِینَ فَلَا تَشُکُّوا فِی ذَلِکَ وَ اسْمَعُوا وَ أَطِیعُوا وَ فِی آخِرِ النَّهَارِ صَوْتُ إِبْلِیسَ اللَّعِینِ یُنَادِی أَلَا إِنَّ فُلَاناً قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً لِیُشَکِّکَ النَّاسَ وَ یُفْتِنَهُمْ فَکَمْ ذَلِکَ الْیَوْمَ مِنْ شَاکٍّ مُتَحَیِّرٍ قَدْ هَوَی فِی النَّارِ وَ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمُ الصَّوْتَ فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَلَا تَشُکُّوا أَنَّهُ صَوْتُ جَبْرَئِیلَ وَ عَلَامَةُ ذَلِکَ أَنَّهُ یُنَادِی بِاسْمِ الْقَائِمِ وَ اسْمِ أَبِیهِ حَتَّی تَسْمَعَهُ الْعَذْرَاءُ فِی خِدْرِهَا فَتُحَرِّضُ أَبَاهَا وَ أَخَاهَا عَلَی الْخُرُوجِ.

وَ قَالَ علیه السلام لَا بُدَّ مِنْ هَذَیْنِ الصَّوْتَیْنِ قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ الْقَائِمِ علیه السلام صَوْتٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ هُوَ صَوْتُ جَبْرَئِیلَ وَ صَوْتٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَهُوَ صَوْتُ إِبْلِیسَ اللَّعِینِ یُنَادِی بِاسْمِ فُلَانٍ أَنَّهُ قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً یُرِیدُ الْفِتْنَةَ فَاتَّبِعُوا الصَّوْتَ الْأَوَّلَ وَ إِیَّاکُمْ وَ الْأَخِیرَ أَنْ تَفْتَتِنُوا بِهِ

May Allah have mercy on those who take heed from this sound and respond to it, for the first sound is the voice of Jibril, the Trustworthy Spirit!

And he said: The sound is on the night of Friday, the 23rd of Ramadan, so do not doubt it, listen, and obey. At the end of the day, the sound of the accursed Iblis will call out: 'Beware, so-and-so (i.e., Uthman) was killed unjustly,' to cast people into doubt and trial. On that day, how many confused doubters will fall into the Fire! When you hear the sound in Ramadan, do not doubt that it is Jibril’s, and its sign is that it calls out the name of the Qa'im (peace be upon him) and his father’s name, such that a maiden in her chamber hears it and urges her father and brother to rise!

And he said: Inevitably, there will be two sounds before the rise of the Qa'im (peace be upon him): a sound from the sky, which is the voice of Jibril, and a sound from the earth, which is from the accursed Iblis, calling by name that so-and-so was killed unjustly, intending to cause trial. So follow the first sound and beware of falling into trial by the second!

Abdullah ibn Sinan says: I was with Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) when I heard a man from Hamdan say to the Imam: The common people (Umaris) reproach us and say: You think a caller from the sky will announce the name of the master of this affair! The Imam, who was reclining, became angry, sat up, and said: Do not narrate this from me, but narrate it from my father, and there is no blame on you for doing so. I testify that I heard my father say: Indeed, this matter is mentioned in the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, where Allah says, 'If We will, We send down to them from the sky a sign, and their necks would remain bowed to it.' At that time, no one on earth will remain but will bow and lower their neck to that sign. When the people of the earth hear this sound from the sky: 'Beware, the truth is with Ali ibn Abi Talib and his followers,' they will believe. Then, the next day, Iblis will rise in the air until he is hidden from the people of the earth and call out: 'Beware, the truth is with Uthman ibn Affan and his followers, for he was killed unjustly, so seek his blood!'

Then the Imam said: Allah will keep steadfast those who believed in the firm word of truth, and that is the first call. At that time, those whose hearts are diseased will fall into doubt, and that disease, by Allah, is enmity toward us. At that moment, they will disavow us, curse us, and say the first caller is a sorcery from this family!

8️⃣عنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ: کُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام فَسَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ هَمْدَانَ یَقُولُ لَهُ إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْعَامَّةَ یُعَیِّرُونَّا وَ یَقُولُونَ لَنَا إِنَّکُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ مُنَادِیاً یُنَادِی مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِاسْمِ صَاحِبِ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ وَ کَانَ مُتَّکِئاً فَغَضِبَ وَ جَلَسَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَا تَرْوُوهُ عَنِّی وَ ارْوُوهُ عَنْ أَبِی وَ لَا حَرَجَ عَلَیْکُمْ فِی ذَلِکَ أَشْهَدُ أَنِّی سَمِعْتُ أَبِی علیه السلام یَقُولُ وَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ ذَلِکَ فِی کِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَبَیِّنٌ حَیْثُ یَقُولُ إِنْ نَشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَیْهِمْ مِنَ السَّماءِ آیَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْناقُهُمْ لَها خاضِعِینَ فَلَا یَبْقَی فِی الْأَرْضِ یَوْمَئِذٍ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا خَضَعَ وَ ذَلَّتْ رَقَبَتُهُ لَهَا فَیُؤْمِنُ أَهْلُ الْأَرْضِ إِذَا سَمِعُوا الصَّوْتَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی طَالِبٍ علیه السلام وَ شِیعَتِهِ فَإِذَا کَانَ الْغَدُ صَعِدَ إِبْلِیسُ فِی الْهَوَاءِ حَتَّی یَتَوَارَی عَنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ یُنَادِی أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ وَ شِیعَتِهِ فَإِنَّهُ قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً فَاطْلُبُوا بِدَمِهِ قَالَ فَ یُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِینَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ عَلَی الْحَقِّ وَ هُوَ النِّدَاءُ الْأَوَّلُ وَ یَرْتَابُ یَوْمَئِذٍ الَّذِینَ فِی قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَ الْمَرَضُ وَ اللَّهِ عَدَاوَتُنَا فَعِنْدَ ذَلِکَ یَتَبَرَّءُونَ مِنَّا وَ یَتَنَاوَلُونَّا فَیَقُولُونَ إِنَّ الْمُنَادِیَ الْأَوَّلَ سِحْرٌ مِنْ سِحْرِ أَهْلِ هَذَا الْبَیْتِ ثُمَّ تَلَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام قَوْلَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَ وَ إِنْ یَرَوْا آیَةً یُعْرِضُوا وَ یَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ

Then Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) recited the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: 'And if they see a sign, they turn away and say, "This is continuous magic."'

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, the first call from the sky by the name of the Qa'im (peace be upon him) is mentioned in the Book of Allah! I said: May Allah rectify your affairs, where is this verse? He said: In Surah Ash-Shu'ara, where it says: 'If We will, We send down to them from the sky a sign, and their necks would remain bowed to it.' When they hear the sound, they will be like those with a bird on their heads (stunned and bewildered)!

9️⃣عنْ فُضَیْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّ النِّدَاءَ الْأَوَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِاسْمِ الْقَائِمِ فِی کِتَابِ اللَّهِ لَبَیِّنٌ فَقُلْتُ أَیْنَ هُوَ أَصْلَحَکَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ فِی طسم تِلْکَ آیاتُ الْکِتابِ الْمُبِینِ قَوْلُهُ إِنْ نَشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَیْهِمْ مِنَ السَّماءِ آیَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْناقُهُمْ لَها خاضِعِینَ قَالَ إِذَا سَمِعُوا الصَّوْتَ أَصْبَحُوا وَ کَأَنَّمَا عَلَی رُءُوسِهِمُ الطَّیْرُ.

Zurara says: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: A caller from the sky announces: Indeed, so-and-so (i.e., the Mahdi, peace be upon him) is the leader, and another caller announces: 'Indeed, Ali and his followers are the successful.' I said: Who will fight the Mahdi after these signs? He said: Indeed, Satan will call out: So-and-so, a man from Bani Umayyah (Uthman) and his followers are the successful. I said: Who distinguishes the truthful from the liar? He said: Those who narrated and believed it would happen before it occurs and know that they are the truthful ones will recognize it!

10 عنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام یَقُولُ: یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَنَّ فُلَاناً هُوَ الْأَمِیرُ وَ یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ أَنَّ عَلِیّاً وَ شِیعَتَهُ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ قُلْتُ فَمَنْ یُقَاتِلُ الْمَهْدِیَّ بَعْدَ هَذَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ الشَّیْطَانَ یُنَادِی أَنَّ فُلَاناً وَ شِیعَتَهُ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِی أُمَیَّةَ قُلْتُ فَمَنْ یَعْرِفُ الصَّادِقَ مِنَ الْکَاذِبِ قَالَ یَعْرِفُهُ الَّذِینَ کَانُوا یَرْوُونَ وَ یَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ یَکُونُ قَبْلَ أَنْ یَکُونَ وَ یَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُحِقُّونَ الصَّادِقُونَ.

Abdurrahman ibn Muslimah Jariri says: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): They reproach and deny us, saying we claim two cries will occur, and they say: When they happen, how will the true cry be distinguished from the false? The Imam said: What do you reply to them? I said: We don’t reply anything! He said: Say: Whoever believed in it before it occurs will confirm it, for Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says (in Surah Yunus, Verse 35): 'Is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who does not guide unless he is guided? What is wrong with you? How do you judge?'

Zurara says: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Is the heavenly call true? He said: Yes, by Allah! Every people will hear it in their own language. Then he said: This matter (the appearance) will not occur until nine-tenths of the people are gone!

2️⃣1️⃣عنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ الْجَرِیرِیِّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام یُوَبِّخُونَّا وَ یُکَذِّبُونَّا أَنَّا نَقُولُ إِنَّ صَیْحَتَیْنِ تَکُونَانِ یَقُولُونَ مِنْ أَیْنَ تُعْرَفُ الْمُحِقَّةُ مِنَ الْمُبْطِلَةِ إِذَا کَانَتَا قَالَ فَمَا ذَا تَرُدُّونَ عَلَیْهِمْ قُلْتُ مَا نَرُدُّ عَلَیْهِمْ شَیْئاً قَالَ قُولُوا یُصَدِّقُ بِهَا إِذَا کَانَتْ مَنْ کَانَ یُؤْمِنُ بِهَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ یَقُولُ أَ فَمَنْ یَهْدِی إِلَی الْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَنْ یُتَّبَعَ أَمَّنْ لا یَهِدِّی إِلَّا أَنْ یُهْدی فَما لَکُمْ کَیْفَ تَحْکُمُونَ

Abu Hamza Thumali says: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Abu Ja'far (Imam Baqir) used to say: Indeed, the emergence of the Sufyani is inevitable! He said: Yes, and the dispute among the sons of Abbas is inevitable, the killing of the Pure Soul is inevitable, and the rise of the Qa'im is inevitable. I said: How is the call? He said: A caller from the sky at the beginning of the day announces: 'Beware, the truth is with Ali and his followers,' then Iblis (cursed be he) at the end of the day announces from the earth: 'Indeed, the truth is with the Sufyani and his followers,' and at that time, the people of falsehood fall into doubt!

Dawud Sarhan says: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The year in which the cry occurs, a sign will appear before it in the month of Rajab! I said: What is that sign? He said: A clear face and hand that appear in the moon!

4️⃣1️⃣عنِ الثُّمَالِیِّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام إِنَّ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام کَانَ یَقُولُ إِنَّ خُرُوجَ السُّفْیَانِیِّ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ قَالَ لِی نَعَمْ وَ اخْتِلَافُ وُلْدِ الْعَبَّاسِ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ قَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الزَّکِیَّةِ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ خُرُوجُ الْقَائِمِ علیه السلام مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَکَیْفَ یَکُونُ النِّدَاءُ قَالَ یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عَلِیٍّ وَ شِیعَتِهِ ثُمَّ یُنَادِی إِبْلِیسُ لَعَنَهُ اللَّهُ فِی آخِرِ النَّهَارِ أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی السُّفْیَانِیِّ وَ شِیعَتِهِ فَیَرْتَابُ عِنْدَ ذَلِکَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ.

📚 Al-Ghayba lil-Nu'mani, p. 259

Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said: It was asked of Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) regarding Allah’s saying: 'Then the factions differed among themselves.' He said: Expect relief from three things. I said: O Amir al-Mu'minin, what are they? He said: The dispute among the people of Sham, the black banners from Khurasan, and fear in the month of Ramadan! It was said: What is the fear in Ramadan? He said: Have you not heard Allah’s saying in the Quran (in Surah Ash-Shu'ara, Verse 4): 'If We will, We send down to them from the sky a sign, and their necks would remain bowed to it.' It is a sign that brings young girls out from behind their veils, awakens the sleeping, and terrifies the awake!

5 1 عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ سِرْحَانَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام أَنَّهُ قَالَ: الْعَامُ الَّذِی فِیهِ الصَّیْحَةُ قَبْلَهُ الْآیَةُ فِی رَجَبٍ قُلْتُ وَ مَا هِیَ قَالَ وَجْهٌ یَطْلُعُ فِی الْقَمَرِ وَ یَدٌ بَارِزَةٌ

Ibn Abi Ya'fur says: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to me: Count with your hand: the demise of so-and-so (according to one version: a man from Bani Abbas), the emergence of the Sufyani, the killing of the Pure Soul, an army sinking into the ground, and a sound! I said: What is the sound? Is it the caller? He said: Yes, and through the sound, the master of this affair is recognized. Then he said: All relief lies in the demise of so-and-so from Bani Abbas!

6️⃣1️⃣عنْ دَاوُدَ الدِّجَاجِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ علیه السلام قَالَ: سُئِلَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَی فَاخْتَلَفَ الْأَحْزابُ مِنْ بَیْنِهِمْ فَقَالَ انْتَظِرُوا الْفَرَجَ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ فَقُلْتُ یَا أَمِیرَ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ وَ مَا هُنَّ فَقَالَ اخْتِلَافُ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ بَیْنَهُمْ وَ الرَّایَاتُ السُّودُ مِنْ خُرَاسَانَ وَ الْفَزْعَةُ فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَقِیلَ وَ مَا الْفَزْعَةُ فِی شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

فَقَالَ أَ مَا سَمِعْتُمْ قَوْلَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِی الْقُرْآنِ إِنْ نَشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَیْهِمْ مِنَ السَّماءِ آیَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْناقُهُمْ لَها خاضِعِینَ آیَةٌ تُخْرِجُ الْفَتَاةَ مِنْ خِدْرِهَا وَ تُوقِظُ النَّائِمَ وَ تُفْزِعُ الْیَقْظَانَ.

📚 Al-Ghayba lil-Nu'mani, p. 262

Muhammad ibn Samit says: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Is there a sign before this matter (the appearance)? He said: Yes! I said: What is it? He said: The demise of an Abbasid, the emergence of the Sufyani, the killing of the Pure Soul, the sinking in the desert of Bayda, and a sound from the sky! I said: May I be sacrificed for you, I fear this will take long! He said: No! It is not so; they are like the beads of a rosary or necklace, following one another (indicating these signs occur in quick succession).

7️⃣1️⃣ عنِ ابْنِ أَبِی یَعْفُورٍ قَالَ: قَالَ لِی أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ أَمْسِکْ بِیَدِکَ هَلَاکَ الْفُلَانِیِّ وَ خُرُوجَ السُّفْیَانِیِّ وَ قَتْلَ النَّفْسِ وَ جَیْشَ الْخَسْفِ وَ الصَّوْتَ قُلْتُ وَ مَا الصَّوْتُ هُوَ الْمُنَادِی قَالَ نَعَمْ وَ بِهِ یُعْرَفُ صَاحِبُ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ ثُمَّ قَالَ الْفَرَجُ کُلُّهُ هَلَاکُ الْفُلَانِیِّ مِنْ بَنِی الْعَبَّاسِ.

Abu Hamza Thumali says: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): Indeed, Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) used to say: The emergence of the Sufyani is inevitable, the call is inevitable, the rising of the sun from the west is inevitable, and he mentioned other inevitable things. Then Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The dispute among Bani Fulan (Bani Abbas) is inevitable, the killing of the Pure Soul is inevitable, and the rise of the Qa'im is inevitable. I said: How is the heavenly call? He said: A caller from the sky at the beginning of the day announces in a way that every people hear in their own language: 'Beware, the truth is with Ali and his followers,' then Iblis at the end of the day announces from the earth: 'Indeed, the truth is with Uthman and his followers,' and at that time, the people of falsehood fall into doubt!

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, one of the important signs of the appearance of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him), which is among the inevitable matters, is the 'Sayha,' meaning a loud and terrifying cry, also referred to as the 'call from the sky,' 'sound from the sky,' or 'Faza'a.' All the people of the world will hear it in their own language, and due to this sound, no sleeper will remain but will awaken, those standing will sit out of fear, and those sitting will stand out of terror!

8 1 عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ أَمَا مِنْ عَلَامَةٍ بَیْنَ یَدَیْ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ فَقَالَ بَلَی قُلْتُ مَا هِیَ قَالَ هَلَاکُ الْعَبَّاسِیِّ وَ خُرُوجُ السُّفْیَانِیِّ وَ قَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الزَّکِیَّةِ وَ الْخَسْفُ بِالْبَیْدَاءِ وَ الصَّوْتُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ أَخَافُ أَنْ یَطُولَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فَقَالَ لَا إِنَّمَا هُوَ کَنِظَامِ الْخَرَزِ یَتْبَعُ بَعْضُهُ بَعْضاً

The timing of this cry is specified in some narrations as the night of the 23rd of Ramadan.

This cry is made by Jibril, the Trustworthy Spirit, from the sky, and its content includes, among others, the following phrases from the narrations:

The name of the Imam and his father is mentioned.

9 1 عن الثمالی قال: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْداللَّه إِنَّ أَبَاجَعْفَر علیه السلام کَانَ یَقُولُ خُرُوجُ السُّفْیَانِیِّ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ و النِّدَاءُ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ و طُلُوعُ الشَّمْسِ مِنَ الْمَغْرِبِ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ أَشْیَاءُ کَانَ یَقُولُهَا مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْداللَّه وَ اخْتِلَافُ بَنِی فُلَانٍ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ قَتْلُ النَّفْسِ الزَّکِیَّةِ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ خُرُوجُ الْقَائِمِ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ قُلْتُ وَ کَیْفَ یَکُونُ النِّدَاءُ قَالَ یُنَادِی مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ یَسْمَعُهُ کُلُّ قَوْمٍ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عَلِیٍّ وَ شِیعَتِهِ ثُمَّ یُنَادِی إِبْلِیسُ فِی آخِرِ النَّهَارِ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عُثْمَانَ وَ شِیعَتِهِ فَعِنْدَ ذَلِکَ یَرْتَابُ الْمُبْطِلُون

Namely: Beware, the truth is with Ali ibn Abi Talib and his followers!

✅ Namely: So-and-so (i.e., Imam Mahdi, peace be upon him) is the leader.

Namely: Indeed, Ali and his followers are the successful!

✅ The above cry, considered the first cry, has two parts: in one part, the name of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) and his father’s name are mentioned, and in another part, Ali ibn Abi Talib and his followers are declared to be on the truth.

This cry is made by Jibril at the beginning of the night or day.

✅ إِنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ هُوَ الْإِمَامُ

✅ But Iblis, to cast people into trial, calls out at the end of that day, the end of the second night, the next day, or the end of the night from the earth:

✅ أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی طَالِبٍ علیه السلام وَ شِیعَتِهِ

Namely: So-and-so (a man from Bani Umayyah, either Uthman ibn Affan or Uthman ibn Anbasa, i.e., the Sufyani) and his followers are the successful!

Or he calls out:

و «أَنَّ عَلِیّاً وَ شِیعَتَهُ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ»

Namely: Beware, the truth is with Uthman (ibn Affan or ibn Anbasa, i.e., the Sufyani) and his followers!

Or:

Namely: Indeed, Uthman ibn Affan was killed unjustly!

Or he calls out:

⛔️أَنَّ فُلَاناً وَ شِیعَتَهُ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ

✅ After Iblis’s cry, the people of falsehood fall into doubt, but those who previously narrated and believed in these cries will not be led astray.

We are obligated to follow the first cry, made by Jibril, proclaiming the Imamate of Imam Mahdi and the truth of Imam Ali (peace be upon them), while the second cry from Iblis, proclaiming the truth of Uthman ibn Anbasa (the Sufyani) or Uthman ibn Affan and his unjust killing, causes trial for the people of falsehood.

⛔️أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عُثْمَانَ وَ شِیعَتِهِ

✅ It is clear that the awareness and belief of the Shiites in this event are highly necessary and vital.

⛔️أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ وَ شِیعَتِهِ فَإِنَّهُ قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً فَاطْلُبُوا بِدَمِهِ

⛔️أَلَا إِنَّ فُلَاناً قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً

⛔️أَلَا إِنَّ الْحَقَّ فِی السُّفْیَانِیِّ وَ شِیعَتِهِ
