1 عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ: لَمَّا دَخَلَ سَلْمَانُ رَضِیَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ الْکُوفَةَ وَ نَظَرَ إِلَیْهَا ذَکَرَ مَا یَکُونُ مِنْ بَلَائِهَا حَتَّی ذَکَرَ مُلْکَ بَنِی أُمَیَّةَ وَ الَّذِینَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ فَإِذَا کَانَ ذَلِکَ فَالْزَمُوا أَحْلَاسَ بُیُوتِکُمْ حَتَّی یَظْهَرَ الطَّاهِرُ بْنُ الطَّاهِرِ الْمُطَهَّرِ ذُو الْغَیْبَةِ الشَّرِیدُ الطَّرِیدُ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: When Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) entered Kufa and looked at it, he mentioned what afflictions would befall it, including the rule of the Umayyads and those after them, and then said: So when this happens, stay confined to the mats of your homes until the pure son of the pure, the one in occultation, the exiled, the outcast, reappears!

2 عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام أَنَّهُ قَالَ: قَالَ لِیَ أَبِی علیه السلام لَا بُدَّ لِنَارٍ مِنْ آذَرْبِیجَانَ لَا یَقُومُ لَهَا شَیْءٌ وَ إِذَا کَانَ ذَلِکَ فَکُونُوا أَحْلَاسَ بُیُوتِکُمْ وَ أَلْبِدُوا مَا أَلْبَدْنَا فَإِذَا تَحَرَّکَ مُتَحَرِّکُنَا فَاسْعَوْا إِلَیْهِ وَ لَوْ حَبْواً وَ اللَّهِ لَکَأَنِّی أَنْظُرُ إِلَیْهِ بَیْنَ الرُّکْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ یُبَایِعُ النَّاسَ عَلَی کِتَابٍ جَدِیدٍ عَلَی الْعَرَبِ شَدِیدٌ وَ قَالَ وَیْلٌ لِطُغَاةِ الْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ

Abu Basir says: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to me: A fire will inevitably arise from Azerbaijan that nothing can withstand. When this happens, stay on the mats of your homes and remain grounded as long as we are grounded. When our mover moves, hasten toward us, even if crawling like a child on hands and belly!

By Allah, it is as if I see him between the Rukn and Maqam, pledging allegiance with people on a new book that is hard for the Arabs!

And he said: Woe to the tyrants of the Arabs for an evil that has drawn near!

3 عَنِ الْمُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام قَالَ: إِنَّ أَمْرَ السُّفْیَانِیِّ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ خُرُوجَهُ فِی رَجَبٍ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The matter of Sufyani is inevitable, and his uprising will occur in the month of Rajab!

4 عَنْ مُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام یَقُولُ: مِنَ الْأَمْرِ مَحْتُومٌ وَ مِنْهُ مَا لَیْسَ بِمَحْتُومٍ وَ مِنَ الْمَحْتُومِ خُرُوجُ السُّفْیَانِیِّ فِی رَجَبٍ.

Mu’alla ibn Khunais says: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Some matters are inevitable, and some are not. Among the inevitable matters is the uprising of Sufyani in the month of Rajab!

5 عیص بن القاسم قال سَمِعْتُ أَبا عَبْداللَّه یَقُولُ عَلَیْکُمْ بِتَقْوَی اللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِیکَ لَهُ وَ انْظُرُوا لِأَنْفُسِکُمْ فَواللَّهِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَیَکُونُ لَهُ الْغَنَمُ فِیهَا الرَّاعِی فَإِذَا وَجَدَ رَجُلًا هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِغَنَمِهِ مِنَ الَّذِی هُوَ فِیهَا یُخْرِجُهُ و یَجِیءُ بِذَلِکَ الرَّجُلِ الَّذِی هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِغَنَمِهِ مِنَ الَّذِی کَانَ فِیهَا و اللَّهِ لَوْ کَانَتْ لِأَحَدِکُمْ نَفْسَانِ یُقَاتِلُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ یُجَرِّبُ بِهَا ثُمَّ کَانَتِ الْأُخْرَی بَاقِیَةً فَعَمِلَ عَلَی ما قَدِ اسْتَبَانَ لَهَا وَ لَکِنْ لَهُ نَفْسٌ وَاحِدَةٌ إِذَا ذَهَبَتْ فَقَدْ وَ اللَّهِ ذَهَبَتِ التَّوْبَةُ فَأَنْتُمْ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْتَارُوا لِأَنْفُسِکُمْ إِنْ أَتَاکُمْ آتٍ مِنَّا فَانْظُرُوا عَلَی أَیِّ شَیْءٍ تَخْرُجُونَ و لَا تَقُولُوا خَرَجَ زَیْدٌ فَإِنَّ زَیْداً کَانَ عَالِماً و کَانَ صَدُوقاً و لَمْ یَدْعُکُمْ إِلَی نَفْسِهِ إِنَّمَا دَعَاکُمْ إِلَی الرِّضَا مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ و لَوْ ظَهَرَ لَوَفَی بِمَا دَعَاکُمْ إِلَیْهِ إِنَّمَا خَرَجَ إِلَی سُلْطَانٍ مُجْتَمِعٍ لِیَنْقُضَهُ فَالْخَارِجُ مِنَّا الْیَوْمَ إِلَی أَیِّ شَیْءٍ یَدْعُوکُمْ إِلَی الرِّضَا مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَنَحْنُ نُشْهِدُکُمْ أَنَّا لَسْنَا نَرْضَی بِهِ و هُوَ یَعْصِینَا الْیَوْمَ و لَیْسَ مَعَهُ أَحَدٌ و هُوَ إِذَا کَانَتِ الرَّایَاتُ و الْأَلْوِیَةُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ لَا یَسْمَعَ مِنَّا إِلَّا مَعَ مَنِ اجْتَمَعَتْ بَنُو فَاطِمَةَ مَعَهُ فَوَ اللَّهِ ما صَاحِبُکُمْ إِلَّا مَنِ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَیْهِ إِذَا کَانَ رَجَبٌ فَأَقْبِلُوا عَلَی اسْمِ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ و إِنْ أَحْبَبْتُمْ أَنْ تَتَأَخَّرُوا إِلَی شَعْبَانَ فَلَا ضَیْرَ وَ إِنْ أَحْبَبْتُمْ أَنْ تَصُومُوا فی أَهَالِیکُمْ فَلَعَلَّ ذلک أَنْ یَکُونَ أَقْوَی لَکُمْ وَ کَفَاکُمْ بِالسُّفْیَانِیِّ عَلَامَةً

Ais ibn Qasim says: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Adopt the piety of Allah, the One who has no partner, and look after yourselves! By Allah, if someone has a flock and assigns a shepherd to it, when they find a shepherd more knowledgeable about the flock, they dismiss the first and appoint the second, who is more skilled in shepherding. By Allah, if one of you had two souls, one to fight with and test, and if that soul were lost, they could apply the experience to the other soul. But the issue is that a person has only one soul. If it is lost, by Allah, repentance is also lost. You are more worthy of choosing for your soul. If a man from us (the descendants of the Prophet) comes and calls you to rise, consider carefully what you are rising for. Do not say Zayd (ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn) rose, for Zayd was a knowledgeable and truthful man. He did not call you to himself but to the pleasure and love of the family of Muhammad (peace be upon them). If he had succeeded, he would have fulfilled what he called you to. He rose against a united regime to break it. But the one who rises today, what does he call you to? If he calls to the pleasure of the family of Muhammad (peace be upon them), we bear witness that we are not pleased with him! He disobeys us today, and none of us are with him. When flags and banners come, he is more likely to ignore us, unless all the progeny of Fatima (peace be upon her) are with him. By Allah, your master is the one around whom the progeny of Fatima gather. When the month of Rajab arrives, come in the name of Allah the Mighty and Exalted. If you delay until Sha’ban, there is no harm. If you prefer to fast Ramadan with your family, it is hoped this will give you greater strength. The uprising of Sufyani as a sign of (the reappearance) is sufficient for you!

📚 Al-Ghaybah by Nu’mani, p. 241

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Sufyani is inevitable and will rise only in Rajab! A man said to the Imam: When Sufyani rises, what will our state be? He said: When this happens, come to us!

Abu Bakr Hadrami says: Aban and I visited Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) when the black flags had appeared in Khorasan. We said to him: What is your opinion? He said: Stay in your homes. When you see us gathered around a man, hasten to us with weapons!

7 عَنْ أَبِی بَکْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِیِّ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَ أَبَانٌ عَلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام وَ ذَلِکَ حِینَ ظَهَرَتِ الرَّایَاتُ السُّودُ بِخُرَاسَانَ فَقُلْنَا مَا تَرَی فَقَالَ اجْلِسُوا فِی بُیُوتِکُمْ فَإِذَا رَأَیْتُمُونَا قَدِ اجْتَمَعْنَا عَلَی رَجُلٍ فَانْهَدُوا إِلَیْنَا بِالسِّلَاحِ.

Yunus ibn Ya’qub says: I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: When Sufyani rises, he will send an army toward us and an army toward you! When this happens, come to us on any mount, tame or wild!

8 عَنْ یُونُسَ بْنِ یَعْقُوبَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام یَقُولُ: إِذَا خَرَجَ السُّفْیَانِیُّ یَبْعَثُ جَیْشاً إِلَیْنَا وَ جَیْشاً إِلَیْکُمْ فَإِذَا کَانَ کَذَلِکَ فَائْتُونَا عَلَی صَعْبٍ وَ ذَلُولٍ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Sufyani and the Qa’im (peace be upon him) will be in the same year!

📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 8, p. 264

9 عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ علیهما السلام أَنَّهُ قَالَ: السُّفْیَانِیُّ وَ الْقَائِمُ فِی سَنَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ.

Sudair says: Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to me: O Sudair! Stay confined to your home and be like a mat of your household. As long as night and day are still, remain calm and still (do not act). When you hear that Sufyani has risen, travel to us, even if on foot!

1 1 Hadrami says: I said to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): What should we do when Sufyani rises? He said: When Sufyani rises, men should hide their faces from him, and no harm will come to women and children. When he dominates the five regions of Sham, migrate to your master!

10 عَنْ سَدِیرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ لِی أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ علیه السلام یَا سَدِیرُ الْزَمْ بَیْتَکَ وَ کُنْ حِلْساً مِنْ أَحْلَاسِهِ وَ اسْکُنْ مَا سَکَنَ اللَّیْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ فَإِذَا بَلَغَ أَنَّ السُّفْیَانِیَّ قَدْ خَرَجَ فَارْحَلْ إِلَیْنَا وَ لَوْ عَلَی رِجْلِکَ

✅ Based on the above narrations and others, the uprising of Sufyani and the reappearance of our Master, Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him), will occur in the same year, with Sufyani rising in the month of Rajab. The recommendation of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) after the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) and the uprising of Sufyani is to reach our Master, Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his relief), by any means possible to assist him. This is one of the clearest, most important, and primary duties we have upon learning of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) and the uprising of Sufyani.

✅ It is strongly recommended to all believers and lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) to carefully study authentic narrations regarding the conditions at the time of the reappearance, especially the book Al-Ghaybah by Nu’mani, multiple times.

✅ It is also strongly recommended to fervently pray for the hastening of the relief and to consistently recite the supplications prescribed for the time of occultation.

✅ In the narration 📚 Bihar, Vol. 52, p. 223, Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said in a narration after mentioning some conditions at the time of the reappearance: Then the Qa’im (peace be upon him) will stand between the Rukn and Maqam, perform prayer, and with his vizier by his side, he will say, among other things:

Indeed, we and every Muslim bear witness that we have been wronged, expelled, oppressed, driven from our homes, wealth, and families, and defeated. Today, we seek help from Allah and every Muslim...!

✅ Let us know that we hope the call for help from the Baqiyatullah (peace be upon him) will soon reach our ears. Let us prepare for such a day so that if we are blessed to witness this sacred day, this Day of Allah, we may rush to aid the Master with pride and eagerness. InshaAllah.
