📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 3, p. 481

Abu Basir said: 'Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to me: 'What does one of you do when he wants to marry?' I said: 'I don't know!'

He said: 'When he thinks of marriage, he should pray two rak'ahs and praise Allah and say:

Translation of the supplication: 'O Allah! I want to marry. So, destine for me from women the one who has the most chaste private part and the one who is most protective of herself, my property, and is the most expansive in provision, and the greatest in blessings. And destine for me a pure child whom you make a righteous successor for me in my life and after my death!'

📚Ja'fariyat, p. 109

The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: 'Any of you who intends to marry should pray two rak'ahs with Surah Ya-Sin (meaning he should recite Surah Ya-Sin after Al-Fatiha in each rak'ah) and when he finishes the prayer, he should praise Allah and praise Him and say:

Translation: 'O Allah! Grant me a compassionate, loving wife who bears many children and is very grateful and protective. If I do good, she thanks me, and if I do bad, she forgives me. If I remember You, she helps me, and if I forget, she reminds me. If I leave her, she protects herself, and if I enter upon her, she makes me happy. If I command her, she obeys me, and if I swear to her, she confirms my oath, and if I get angry with her, she makes me happy, O You who are the possessor of greatness and honor! Grant it to me and bestow it upon me, for I have asked you, and I cannot receive it except from what you give and bestow!'

And the Imam said: 'Whoever does this, Allah will grant him what he has asked for!'

3️⃣ From Abd al-Rahman ibn A'yan, he said: 'I heard Abu Abdullah say: 'When a man wants to marry a woman, he should say: 'I acknowledge the covenant that Allah has taken: to hold with kindness or to release with goodness.''

📚Al-Kafi, Vol. 5, p. 501

Abd al-Rahman ibn A'yan said: 'I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: 'When a man wants to marry a woman, he should say:

Translation: 'I acknowledge the covenant that Allah has taken to hold with kindness or to release with goodness!'
