Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When you place the deceased in his niche (lahd), place him on his right side, facing the qibla, and untie the knots of his shroud, and place his cheek on the soil!'

✅ According to the above narrations and others, the deceased is placed in a shaqq or lahd on his right side, facing the qibla. The most intelligent person in the grave should be at his head, and all the knots of his shroud are untied. The shroud is opened from the face of the deceased, and a pillow of soil is placed under his head, and his right cheek is placed on the soil, and a clod is placed behind his back so that he does not fall on his back.
