1 عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَا يَنْقُضُ الْوُضُوءَ فَقَالا مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ طَرَفَيْكَ الْأَسْفَلَيْنِ مِنَ الذَّكَرِ وَ الدُّبُرِ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ وَ الْبَوْلِ أَوْ مَنِيٍّ أَوْ رِيحٍ وَ النَّوْمُ حَتَّى يُذْهِبَ الْعَقْلَ وَ كُلُّ النَّوْمِ يُكْرَهُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ تَسْمَعُ الصَّوْتَ.

Zurarah said: I said to Imam al-Baqir and Imam al-Sadiq, blessings of God be upon them: What things invalidate and break wudu? They said: What comes out of your two lower orifices, meaning the private part and the anus, from feces, urine, semen, or gas, and also sleep in a way that takes away the intellect, and every sleep is disliked (i.e., invalidates wudu) except for sleep in which you can hear sound!

2 عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ آدَمَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الرِّضَا عَنِ النَّاصُورِ [الناسور] أَ يَنْقُضُ الْوُضُوءَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَنْقُضُ الْوُضُوءَ ثَلَاثٌ الْبَوْلُ وَ الْغَائِطُ وَ الرِّيحُ.

Zakariya ibn Adam said: I asked Imam al-Reza, blessings of God be upon him, about an anal fistula (which is a purulent wound and a disease around the anus) and whether it invalidates wudu? The Imam said: Indeed, three things invalidate wudu: urine, feces, and gas!

3 عَنْ صَفْوَانَ قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ وَ أَنَا حَاضِرٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ بِي جُرْحاً فِي مَقْعَدَتِي فَأَتَوَضَّأُ وَ أَسْتَنْجِي ثُمَّ أَجِدُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ النَّدَى وَ الصُّفْرَةَ تَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْمَقْعَدَةِ أَ فَأُعِيدُ الْوُضُوءَ قَالَ قَدْ أَنْقَيْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ رُشَّهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَ لَا تُعِدِ الْوُضُوءَ.

Safwan said: A person asked Abul Hasan, blessings of God be upon him, in my presence and said: I have a wound in my anus, so I wash the place of feces and perform wudu, and then after that, I find moisture and yellowness that has come out of the anus. Should I repeat wudu? The Imam said: Did you clean and purify that place? I said: Yes! He said: No! Sprinkle water on that place and do not repeat wudu!

4 عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: سُئِلَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ حَبُّ الْقَرْعِ كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ خَرَجَ نَظِيفاً مِنَ الْعَذِرَةِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ وَ لَمْ يُنْقَضْ وُضُوؤُهُ وَ إِنْ خَرَجَ مُتَلَطِّخاً بِالْعَذِرَةِ فَعَلَيْهِ أَنْ يُعِيدَ الْوُضُوءَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ قَطَعَ الصَّلَاةَ وَ أَعَادَ الْوُضُوءَ وَ الصَّلَاةَ.

Imam al-Sadiq, blessings of God be upon him, was asked about a person who is in prayer and a tapeworm comes out of him. What should he do?

He said: If it is clean from feces, there is nothing upon him and it does not invalidate his wudu, and if it comes out mixed with feces, it is obligatory upon him to repeat wudu, and if he is in his prayer, he should cut off the prayer and repeat wudu and the prayer!

6 عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَخَذَهُ تَقْطِيرٌ مِنْ فَرْجِهِ إِمَّا دَمٌ وَ إِمَّا غَيْرُهُ قَالَ فَلْيَصْنَعْ خَرِيطَةً وَ لْيَتَوَضَّأْ وَ لْيُصَلِّ فَإِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ بَلَاءٌ ابْتُلِيَ بِهِ فَلَا يُعِيدَنَّ إِلَّا مِنَ الْحَدَثِ الَّذِي يُتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهُ

Sama'a said: I asked (Imam al-Sadiq, blessings of God be upon him) about a person who has dripping or trickling of blood or other things from their private part; the Imam said: He should make a pouch for himself and perform wudu and pray, for this is a calamity that has befallen him, and he should not repeat the prayer except for an event that wudu is repeated for!

✅According to the above narrations and others, what invalidates and breaks wudu is the exit of urine, feces, semen, and gas, as well as sleep, and the exit of blood and yellowness from the anus due to hemorrhoids or other things does not invalidate wudu.
