Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Aqiqah is obligatory!'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 29

The leg along with the thigh is sent to the midwife, and some is eaten and some is given as charity!'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 28
Ammar said: I asked Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) about the Aqiqah for a newborn, how it is... up to where he said: 'A quarter of the Aqiqah is given to the midwife, and if there is no midwife, it is for his mother (the mother of the newborn) to give to whomever she wishes, and ten Muslims are fed from it, and if there are more, it is better...'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 28
Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When a boy or a girl is born to you, then on the seventh day, perform an Aqiqah with a sheep or a camel for them, and eat from it and feed others from it, and name them, and shave their head on the seventh day, and give gold or silver as charity equal to the weight of their hair, and give a part of the Aqiqah to the midwife. So, whichever of these you do is sufficient for you!'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 27
Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Perform an Aqiqah for the newborn, and shave his head on the seventh day, and give silver as charity equal to its weight, and cut the Aqiqah into pieces and cook it and invite a group of Muslims to it!'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 33
Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) named Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them) on the seventh day and performed an Aqiqah with a sheep for each of them. They sent the leg of the sheep to the midwife, and they ate the rest of it and gave some as a gift to the neighbors, and Fatimah (peace be upon her) shaved their heads and gave silver as charity equal to its weight!'
7 Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When a child is born, an Aqiqah is performed on his behalf, and his head is shaved, and silver is given as charity equal to the weight of his hair, and one leg along with the thigh is given as a gift to the midwife, and a group of Muslims are invited and they eat from it and pray for the child, and on the seventh day he is named!'
📚 Al-Kafi, vol. 6, p. 28
✅According to the above narrations and others, although Aqiqah is made obligatory in the narrations, regarding the consumption of its meat, it is mentioned as a gift, a meal (feeding), and charity. Therefore, there is no prohibition from feeding it or giving it as a gift to Sayyids.
