1 عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ الْأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدٌ إِلَّا بِئْرَ غَائِطٍ أَوْ مَقْبَرَةً

‘Ubaid ibn Zurara said: I heard Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: The entire earth is a place of prostration (place for prayer), except for a latrine or a grave!

2 عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَعْطَى مُحَمَّداً شَرَائِعَ نُوحٍ وَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ مُوسَى وَ عِيسَى إِلَى أَنْ قَالَ وَ جَعَلَ لَهُ الْأَرْضَ مَسْجِداً وَ طَهُوراً.

Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah granted the laws of Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all) to Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family)... until He said: And He made the earth a place of prostration (place for prayer) and purification for him!

3 عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ فِي خَبَرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لِسَلْمَانَ وَ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَ جَعَلَ الْأَرْضَ لِي مَسْجِداً وَ طَهُوراً أَيْنَمَا كُنْتُ مِنْهَا أَتَيَمَّمُ مِنْ تُرْبَتِهَا وَ أُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا الْخَبَرَ

Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said in a narration: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said to Salman and Abu Dharr: Allah has made the earth a mosque (place of prostration and prayer) and pure (usable for tayammum) for me. Wherever I am on earth, I perform tayammum with its soil and pray upon it...

✅According to the above narrations and others, except for certain places where praying is discouraged or prohibited, one can pray anywhere. The point is that the kitchen is not among the places forbidden for prayer. Praying in it is not prohibited or disliked (makruh). If there is a flame or a living image in the direction of the qibla, the prohibition applies due to the fire or image, not because it is a kitchen. Therefore, praying in a kitchen is not inherently disliked or forbidden, and the commonly mentioned dislike of praying in a kitchen has no narrational basis.
