Ibn Bukayr said: I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) about a person in a state of janabah, can he eat, drink, and recite the Quran? He said: Yes! He can eat, drink, and recite, and he can remember Allah, the Exalted and Glorified, as much as he wishes!

✅From the above narrations and others, it is clear that eating and drinking in a state of janabah is forbidden and causes poverty and leprosy. Although a dispensation for it has also been received in narration 7, if a person wants to eat or drink while in a state of janabah, it is recommended that he perform wudu. And since people are generally lazy about performing wudu, in the next step, it is recommended that he wash his two hands and rinse his mouth with water, and according to narration 3, he should also wash his face, and then he may eat and drink.

The above rulings are not specific to men, and women are also subject to the prohibition of eating and drinking in a state of janabah.
