✅Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:

1️⃣ Abu Nuwas said: 'One day I said to the Imam (peace be upon him): 'O my master! The book 'Ikhtiyarat al-Ayyam' has reached me from Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), which Hasan ibn Abdillah ibn Mutahhar narrated from Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Daylami, who narrated it from his father, from Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) regarding every month. May I present it to you?' He said: 'Yes.'

When I presented it to him and he corrected it, I said: 'O my master! In most of these days, due to what is mentioned of warnings and fears about them, there are obstacles to one's purposes (and the matters a person intends). So guide me on how to be safe from the fears in them, for necessity and compulsion lead me to seek needs and work on those days.'

The Imam said to me: 'O Sahl! Indeed, for our Shias, there is a protection and preservation due to our guardianship, so that if they go with it into deep seas and distant deserts among predators, wolves, jinn, and rebellious humans, they will be safe from their dangers because of our guardianship. So trust in Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, and make pure the guardianship and love you have for your pure Imams, and go to any direction you wish, and when you enter the morning and have recited this supplication three times, go to whatever you intended:'

أَصْبَحْتُ اللَّهُمَّ مُعْتَصِماً بِذِمَامِکَ الْمَنِیعِ الَّذِی لَا یُطَاوَلُ وَ لَا یُحَاوَلُ مِنْ کُلِّ طَارِقٍ وَ غَاشِمٍ مِنْ سَائِرِ مَا خَلَقْتَ وَ مَنْ خَلَقْتَ مِنْ خَلْقِکَ الصَّامِتِ وَ النَّاطِقِ فِی جُنَّةٍ مِنْ کُلِّ مَخُوفٍ بِلِبَاسٍ سَابِغَةٍ هُوَ وَلَاءُ أَهْلِ بَیْتِ نَبِیِّکَ مُحْتَجِزاً [مُحْتَجِبَاً] مِنْ کُلِّ قَاصِدٍ إِلَی أَذِیَّةٍ بِجِدَارِ حَصِینِ الْإِخْلَاصِ فِی الِاعْتِرَافِ بِحَقِّهِمْ وَ التَّمَسُّکِ بِحَبْلِهِمْ جَمِیعاً مُوقِناً أَنَّ الْحَقَّ لَهُمْ وَ مَعَهُمْ وَ فِیهِمْ وَ بِهِمْ أُوَالِی مَنْ وَالَوْا وَ أُجَانِبُ مَنْ جَانَبُوا فَأَعِذْنِی اللَّهُمَّ بِهِمْ مِنْ شَرِّ کُلِّ مَا أَتَّقِیهِ یَا عَظِیمُ حَجَزْتُ الْأَعَادِیَ عَنِّی بِبَدِیعِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مِنْ بَیْنِ أَیْدِیهِمْ سَدّاً وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدّاً فَأَغْشَیْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا یُبْصِرُونَ

'...And you say it three times at the beginning of the night as well, in which case you will be under protection from your dangers and fears.'

'And if you wish to go to a task on days that are warned against, before going, precede it by reciting Surah Al-Fatiha, Surah An-Nas, Surah Al-Falaq, Ayat al-Kursi, Surah Al-Qadr, and the last verse of Surah Al 'Imran, and say:'

اللَّهُمَّ بِکَ یَصُولُ الصَّائِلُ وَ بِقُدْرَتِکَ یَطُولُ الطَّائِلُ وَ لَا حَوْلَ لِکُلِّ ذِی حَوْلٍ إِلَّا بِکَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ یَمْتَارُهَا ذُو قُوَّةٍ إِلَّا مِنْکَ بِصَفْوَتِکَ مِنْ خَلْقِکَ وَ خِیَرَتِکَ مِنْ بَرِیَّتِکَ مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِیِّکَ وَ عِتْرَتِهِ وَ سُلَالَتِهِ عَلَیْهِ وَ عَلَیْهِمُ السَّلَامُ صَلِّ عَلَیْهِمْ وَ اکْفِنِی شَرَّ هَذَا الْیَوْمِ وَ ضَرَرَهُ وَ ارْزُقْنِی خَیْرَهُ وَ یُمْنَهُ وَ اقْضِ لِی فِی مُتَصَرَّفَاتِی بِحُسْنِ الْعَاقِبَةِ وَ بُلُوغِ الْمَحَبَّةِ وَ الظَّفَرِ بِالْأُمْنِیَّةِ وَ کِفَایَةِ الطَّاغِیَةِ الْغَوِیَّةِ وَ کُلِّ ذِی قُدْرَةٍ لِی عَلَی أَذِیَّةٍ حَتَّی أَکُونَ فِی جُنَّةٍ وَ عِصْمَةٍ مِنْ کُلِّ بَلَاءٍ وَ نَقِمَةٍ وَ أَبْدِلْنِی مِنَ الْمَخَاوِفِ أَمْناً وَ مِنَ الْعَوَائِقِ فِیهِ یُسْراً حَتَّی لَا یَصُدَّنِی صَادٌّ عَنِ الْمُرَادِ وَ لَا یَحُلَّ بِی طَارِقٌ مِنْ أَذَی الْعِبَادِ إِنَّکَ عَلی کُلِّ شَیْ ءٍ قَدِیرٌ وَ الْأُمُورُ إِلَیْکَ تَصِیرُ یَا مَنْ لَیْسَ کَمِثْلِهِ شَیْ ءٌ وَ هُوَ السَّمِیعُ الْبَصِیرُ.

2️⃣ Imam Ali al-Naqi (peace be upon him) said: 'Ashja' al-Sulami came to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) and said: 'O my master! I travel a lot and I am in terrifying places, so teach me something by which I can find safety for my soul.' The Imam said: 'When you fear something, place your right hand on your head and recite this verse in a loud voice:'

أَفَغَیْرَ دِینِ اللَّهِ یَبْغُونَ وَ لَهُ أَسْلَمَ مَنْ فِی السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ طَوْعاً وَ کَرْهاً وَ إِلَیْهِ یُرْجَعُونَ

Ashja' said: 'I entered a valley that was known as the 'Valley of the Jinn,' and I heard someone saying: 'Catch him!' I recited this verse, so someone said: 'How can we catch him when he has taken refuge in a good verse!'

3 قَالَ الصَّادِقُ إِذَا تَغَوَلَّتْ بِكُمُ الْغُولُ فَأَذِّنُوا.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'When a ghoul appears to you and frightens you and misleads you from the path, say the call to prayer (Adhan)!'

4️⃣ Zayd al-Zarrad said: 'I asked Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him): 'Do jinn abduct humans?' The Imam said: 'For a person who says these words in the morning and at night, there is no way for them to get to him:'

یا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطارِ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا لا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطانٍ لَا سُلْطَانَ لَکُمْ عَلَیَّ وَ لَا عَلَی دَارِی وَ لَا عَلَی أَهْلِی وَ لَا عَلَی وَلَدِی یَا سُکَّانَ الْهَوَاءِ وَ یَا سُکَّانَ الْأَرْضِ عَزَمْتُ عَلَیْکُمْ بِعَزِیمَةِ اللَّهِ الَّتِی عَزَمَ بِهَا أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلِیُّ بْنُ أَبِی طَالِبٍ علیه السلام عَلَی جِنِّ وَادِی الصَّبْرَةِ أَنْ لَا سَبِیلَ لَکُمْ عَلَیَّ وَ لَا عَلَی شَیْ ءٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ حُزَانَتِی یَا صَالِحِی الْجِنِّ یَا مُؤْمِنِی الْجِنِّ عَزَمْتُ عَلَیْکُمْ بِمَا أَخَذَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْکُمْ مِنَ الْمِیثَاقِ بِالطَّاعَةِ لِحُجَة بْنِ الْحَسَنِ حُجَّةِ اللَّهِ عَلَی جَمِیعِ الْبَرِیَّةِ وَ الْخَلِیقَةِ أَنْ تَمْنَعُوا عَنِّی شَرَّ فَسَقَتِکُمْ حَتَّی لَا یَصِلُوا إِلَیَّ بِسُوءٍ أَخَذْتُ بِسَمْعِ اللَّهِ عَلَی أَسْمَاعِکُمْ وَ بِعَیْنِ اللَّهِ عَلَی أَعْیُنِکُمْ وَ امْتَنَعْتُ بِحَوْلِ اللَّهِ وَ قُوَّتِهِ عَلَی حَبَائِلِکُمْ وَ مَکْرِکُمْ إِنْ تَمْکُرُوا یَمْکُرِ اللَّهُ بِکُمْ وَ هُوَ خَیْرُ الْمَاکِرِینَ وَ جَعَلْتُ نَفْسِی وَ أَهْلِی وَ وُلْدِی وَ جَمِیعَ حُزَانَتِی فِی کَنَفِ اللَّهِ وَ سِتْرِهِ وَ کَنَفِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلی الله علیه و آله وَ کَنَفِ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی طَالِبٍ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَیْهِ اسْتَتَرْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَ بِهِمَا وَ امْتَنَعْتُ بِاللَّهِ

وَ بِهِمَا وَ احْتَجَبْتُ بِاللَّهِ وَ بِهِمَا مِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَتِکُمْ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ فَسَقَةِ الْإِنْسِ وَ الْعَرَبِ وَ الْعَجَمِ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِیَ اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَیْهِ تَوَکَّلْتُ وَ هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیمِ لَا سَبِیلَ لَکُمْ وَ لَا سُلْطَانَ قَهَرْتُ سُلْطَانَکُمْ بِسُلْطَانِ اللَّهِ وَ بَطْشَکُمْ بِبَطْشِ اللَّهِ وَ قَهَرْتُ مَکْرَکُمْ وَ حَبَائِلَکُمْ وَ کَیْدَکُمْ وَ رَجِلَکُمْ وَ خَیْلَکُمْ وَ سُلْطَانَکُمْ وَ بَطْشَکُمْ بِسُلْطَانِ اللَّهِ وَ عِزِّهِ وَ مُلْکِهِ وَ عَظَمَتِهِ وَ عَزِیمَتِهِ الَّتِی عَزَمَ بِهَا أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ علیه السلام عَلَی جِنِّ وَادِی الصَّبْرَةِ لَمَّا طَغَوْا وَ بَغَوْا وَ تَمَرَّدُوا فَأَذْعَنُوا لَهُ صَاغِرِینَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قُوَّتِهِمْ فَلَا سُلْطَانَ لَکُمْ وَ لَا سَبِیلَ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِیِّ الْعَظِیمِ.

5️⃣ Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) used to say: 'If I say these words, I do not care if humans and jinn conspire against me:'

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَ بِاللَّهِ وَ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَ إِلَی اللَّهِ وَ فِی سَبِیلِ اللَّهِ وَ عَلَی مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ إِلَیْکَ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِی وَ إِلَیْکَ وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِی وَ إِلَیْکَ أَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِی وَ إِلَیْکَ فَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِی اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِی بِحِفْظِ الْإِیمَانِ مِنْ بَیْنِ یَدَیَّ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِی وَ عَنْ یَمِینِی وَ عَنْ شِمَالِی وَ مِنْ فَوْقِی وَ مِنْ تَحْتِی وَ مِنْ قِبَلِی وَ ادْفَعْ عَنِّی بِحَوْلِکَ وَ قُوَّتِکَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِکَ.

6 عَنْ أَبِي عَبْداللَّهِ قَالَ: مَنْ أَكْثَرَ قِرَاءَةَ قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ- لَمْ يُصِبْهُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا شَيْ ءٌ مِنْ أَعْيُنِ الْجِنِّ وَ لَا نَفْثِهِمْ وَ لَا سِحْرِهِمْ وَ لَا مِنْ كَيْدِهِمْ وَ كَانَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ لَا أُرِيدُ بِهِ بَدَلًا وَ لَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَبْغِيَ عَنْهُ حِوَلًا.

📚 Thawab al-A'mal, p. 148

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever recites Surah Al-Jinn frequently, nothing from the sight of the jinn, their blowing, their magic, or their cunning will reach him in the life of this world, and he will be with Muhammad (peace be upon him) and will say: 'O Lord! I do not want to change this state and I do not want to seek to transform from it!'

Properties of Surah Al-Jinn

7️⃣ Zayd Zarrad said: 'One year we went for Hajj, and when we reached the ruins of Medina between the walls, we lost one of our companions, who was one of our brothers. So we searched for him, but we did not find him!'

The people in Medina said to us: 'Your companion has been abducted by the jinn!'

I went to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) and told him about his condition and the words of the people of Medina.

The Imam said: 'Go to the place where he was abducted or he said: lost, and with your loudest voice, say:'

یَا صَالِحَ بْنَ عَلِیٍّ إِنَّ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ یَقُولُ لَکَ أَهَکَذَا عَاهَدَتْ وَ عَاقَدَتِ الْجِنُّ عَلِیَّ بْنَ أَبِی طَالِبٍ اطْلُبْ فُلَاناً (به جای فلان نام آن شخص گفته می شود) حَتَّی تُؤَدِّیَهُ إِلَی رُفَقَائِهِ

'...Then say:'

یَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ عَزَمْتُ عَلَیْکُمْ بِمَا عَزَمَ عَلَیْکُمْ عَلِیُّ بْنُ أَبِی طَالِبٍ علیه السلام لَمَّا خَلَّیْتُمْ عَنْ صَاحِبِی وَ أَرْشَدْتُمُوهُ إِلَی الطَّرِیقِ

He said: 'I did this, and it wasn't long before he came out from one of the ruins towards me and said: 'A person appeared to me, and I had never seen a face more beautiful than his. He said: 'O young man! I think you have the guardianship of the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him)?' I said: 'Yes!' He said: 'Indeed, there is a man from the family of Muhammad here, do you want to greet him and be rewarded?' I said: 'Yes!' So he led me into these walls, and he walked in front of me, until when we had gone a short distance, I looked and saw nothing and fainted, and I did not know where I was on the earth until now, when someone came to me and carried me until he brought me to the road!'

The narrator said: 'I told this to Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), and he said: 'There is a type of jinn called 'ghoul' that deceives humans, so when you see a single person, do not ask him for guidance, and if he guides you, oppose him, and when you see him coming out of a ruin towards you or you see him in a desert land, then say the call to prayer in his face and raise your voice and say:'

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِی جَعَلَ فِی السَّمَاءِ نُجُوماً وَ رُجُوماً لِلشَّیاطِینِ عَزَمْتُ عَلَیْکَ یَا خَبِیثُ بِعَزِیمَةِ اللَّهِ الَّتِی عَزَمَ بِهَا أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلِیُّ بْنُ أَبِی طَالِبٍ علیه السلام وَ رَمَیْتُ بِسَهْمِ اللَّهِ الْمُصِیبِ الَّذِی لَا یُخْطِئُ وَ جَعَلْتُ سَمْعَ اللَّهِ عَلَی سَمْعِکَ وَ بَصَرِکَ وَ ذَلَّلْتُکَ بِعِزَّةِ اللَّهِ وَ قَهَرْتُ سُلْطَانَکَ بِسُلْطَانِ اللَّهِ یَا خَبِیثُ لَا سَبِیلَ لَکَ

'...for indeed you will defeat him, if Allah wills, and you will turn him away from you!'

'So when you get lost, say the call to prayer with your loudest voice and say:'

یَا سَیَّارَةَ اللَّهِ دُلُّونَا عَلَی الطَّرِیقِ یَرْحَمْکُمُ اللَّهُ أَرْشِدُونَا یُرْشِدْکُمُ اللَّهُ

'...So if you find the way, then that's that, otherwise, call out:'

یَا عُتَاةَ الْجِنِّ وَ یَا مَرَدَةَ الشَّیَاطِینِ أَرْشِدُونِی وَ دُلُّونِی عَلَی الطَّرِیقِ وَ إِلَّا إِنْتَزَعْتُ لَکُمْ بِسَهْمِ اللَّهِ الْمُصِیبِ إِیَّاکُمْ عَزِیمَةِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی طَالِبٍ یَا مَرَدَةَ الشَّیَاطِینِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطارِ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ فَانْفُذُوا لا تَنْفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطانٍ مُبِینٍ اللَّهُ غَالِبُکُمْ بِجُنْدِهِ الْغَالِبِ وَ قَاهِرُکُمْ بِسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَاهِرِ وَ مُذَلِّلُکُمْ بعزته [بِعِزِّهِ] الْمَتِینِ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِیَ اللَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَیْهِ تَوَکَّلْتُ وَ هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیمِ

'...and raise your voice with the call to prayer, for you will be guided and you will find the way, if Allah wills!'

8️⃣ Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) used to say between the Maghrib and Isha prayers (and according to the Kafi version, after the Maghrib and Isha prayers):

اللَّهُمَّ بِیَدِکَ مَقَادِیرُ اللَّیْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ وَ مَقَادِیرُ الدُّنْیَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ مَقَادِیرُ الْمَوْتِ وَ الْحَیَاةِ وَ مَقَادِیرُ الشَّمْسِ وَ الْقَمَرِ وَ مَقَادِیرُ النَّصْرِ وَ الْخِذْلَانِ وَ مَقَادِیرُ الْغِنَی وَ الْفَقْرِ اللَّهُمَّ ادْرَأْ عَنِّی شَرَّ فَسَقَةِ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ وَ اجْعَلْ مُنْقَلَبِی إِلَی خَیْرٍ دَائِمٍ وَ نَعِیمٍ لَا یَزُولُ

📚 Faqih, Vol. 1, p. 213

✅ In many other supplications, refuge is also sought in Allah, the Mighty and Glorious, from the evil of the wicked jinn and humans, and persistence in them is useful for protection from the rebellious jinn.

اللَّهُمَّ عَجِّلْ لِوَلِیِّکَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْعَافِیَةَ وَ النَّصْرَ
