Answer
✅ Answer: Please pay attention to the following narrations:
📚 Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, p. 33
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Fatimah (peace be upon her) performed 'aqiqah' on behalf of her two sons, shaved their heads on the seventh day, and gave charity in silver equal to the weight of their hair!'
📚 Uyun Akhbar al-Ridha (peace be upon him), Vol. 2, p. 46
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Fatimah (peace be upon her) performed 'aqiqah' on behalf of Hasan and Husayn (peace be upon them) and gave the midwife one leg of the sheep and one dinar!'
📚 Al-Faqih, Vol. 3, p. 485
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said in a hadith about 'aqiqah': 'A ram is sacrificed on his behalf!'
✅ From the above narrations and others, it is clear that a mother can also perform 'aqiqah' for her children, and what is important is the performance of the 'aqiqah', whether the father or the mother does it.
