1⃣عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْعَبَّاسِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی حَمْزَةَ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَیْمُونٍ الصَّائِغِ قَالَ قَالَ لِی أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَا عَلِیُّ بَلَغَنِی أَنَّ أُنَاساً مِنْ شِیعَتِنَا تَمُرُّ بِهِمُ السَّنَةُ وَ السَّنَتَانِ وَ أَکْثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِکَ لَا یَزُورُونَ الْحُسَیْنَ بْنَ عَلِیٍّ ع قُلْتُ إِنِّی لَأَعْرِفُ أُنَاساً کَثِیراً بِهَذِهِ الصِّفَةِ فَقَالَ أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ لِحَظِّهِمْ أَخْطَئُوا وَ عَنْ ثَوَابِ اللَّهِ زَاغُوا وَ عَنْ جِوَارِ مُحَمَّدٍ ص فِی الْجَنَّةِ تَبَاعَدُوا قُلْتُ فَإِنْ أَخْرَجَ عَنْهُ رَجُلًا یُجْزِئُ ذَلِکَ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَ خُرُوجُهُ بِنَفْسِهِ أَعْظَمُ أَجْراً وَ خَیْرٌ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ

📚 *Kamil al-Ziyarat*, p. 295

Translation: Ali bin Maymun says: Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said to me: 'O Ali, it has come to my attention that a group of our Shia have passed one year, two years, or more, and have not gone to visit Hussein ibn Ali (AS)!' I said: 'I know many people with this characteristic.' Imam said: 'Be aware, by God, they go astray from their share, deviate from the reward of God, and distance themselves from the proximity of Muhammad (PBUH) in paradise.'

I said: 'If they send someone on their behalf, would this be sufficient for them?' He said: 'Yes, but if they go themselves, their reward is greater, and it is better for them in the sight of their Lord.'

2⃣وَ رُوِیَ أَنَّ الصَّادِقَ مَرِضَ فَأَمَرَ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ أَنْ یَسْتَأْجِرُوا لَهُ أَجِیراً یَدْعُو لَهُ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَیْنِ (علیه السلام) فَوَجَدُوا رَجُلًا فَقَالُوا لَهُ ذَلِکَ فَقَالَ أَنَا أَمْضِی وَ لَکِنَّ الْحُسَیْنَ إِمَامٌ مُفْتَرَضُ الطَّاعَةِ وَ هُوَ إِمَامٌ مُفْتَرَضُ الطَّاعَةِ فَرَجَعُوا إِلَی الصَّادِقِ وَ أَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ هُوَ کَمَا قَالَ وَ لَکِنْ أَ مَا عَرَفَ أَنَّ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَی بِقَاعاً یُسْتَجَابُ فِیهَا الدُّعَاءُ فَتِلْکَ الْبُقْعَةُ مِنْ تِلْکَ الْبِقَاعِ

📚 *Wasa'il al-Shi'a*, Vol. 14, p. 537

Translation: It is narrated that Imam al-Sadiq (AS) became ill, and he instructed those around him to hire someone to go and pray at the grave of Imam Hussein (AS) for him.

They found a man for this task and informed him of the matter. The man said: 'I will go, but Imam Hussein (AS) is an Imam whose obedience is obligatory, and Imam al-Sadiq (AS) is also an Imam whose obedience is obligatory.' They went back to Imam al-Sadiq (AS) and informed him of what the man said. Imam said: 'What he has said is correct, but does he not know that God has lands where prayers are accepted, and that the shrine of Hussein (AS) is among those lands?'

✅ Based on the two narrations above and other general narrations, it is permissible to hire someone from any place to go on our behalf to visit Imam Hussein (AS) or other members of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). This is especially suitable for those who face obstacles in going to the shrine themselves.
