Question 96: If a woman goes to Karbala with the intention of visiting Imam Hussain (AS), but due to crowding or other reasons, she is unable to reach the grave, is she considered a visitor, and will she receive the reward of the visit?

✅ Answer:

In many narrations, it is clearly stated that a person leaving their home with the intention of visiting Sayyid al-Shuhada (AS) is considered a 'visitor,' and many of the rewards for the visit are granted to the visitor even before reaching the grave of Imam Hussain (AS). Among these narrations:

📚 *Thawab al-A'mal*, p. 91

Translation: Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said: Indeed, the sins of the visitor of Hussain (AS) are placed as a bridge at his doorstep, and he crosses over it just as one of you passes over a bridge.

📚 *Kamil al-Ziyarat*, p. 297

Translation: Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said in a narration: Indeed, when the visitor of Imam Hussain (AS) leaves his home and life, nothing casts a shadow on him except that it prays for him. When the sun shines upon him, it consumes his sins just as fire consumes firewood, and the sun leaves nothing of his sins upon him. He returns without any sin left, and his ranks are elevated to such a degree that even those who were martyred for the sake of Allah and covered in their own blood will not reach that rank.

✅ Numerous narrations state that the intention behind an action is often considered better than the action itself. For example:

📚 *Gharar al-Hikam*, p. 87

Translation: Amir al-Mu'minin (AS) said: A righteous intention is one of two actions.

📚 *Alal al-Sharai'* Vol. 2, p. 635

Translation: Imam al-Baqir (AS) said: The intention of a believer is better than their action because they intend to perform some actions but may not achieve them...

📚 *Bihar al-Anwar*, Vol. 5, p. 301, Beirut edition

Translation: Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said: People are commanded to do some actions and prohibited from others, and anyone who has a legitimate excuse (for doing or leaving something) will have their excuse accepted by Allah.

✅ Based on the above narrations and numerous other narrations in this regard, this person is considered a visitor, and they are excused and rewarded. They will receive the reward of the intention they made, and from wherever they can, they will recite the ziyarat of Imam Hussain (AS). Insha'Allah.

✅ Note: I recommend reading the esteemed *Kamil al-Ziyarat* to all lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), as the narrations in this book provide much-needed knowledge.
