1 عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّه قَالَ: مَنْ غَسَلَ یَدَهُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ عَاشَ فِی سَعَةٍ وَ عُوفِیَ مِنْ بَلْوَی فِی جَسَدِهِ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever washes his hands before and after eating, will live in abundance and be granted well-being from hardship and affliction in his body!'

2 عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَال قَالَ: یَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ یُذْهِبَانِ الْفَقْرَ قُلْتُ بِأَبِی أَنْتَ وَ أُمِّی یَذْهَبَانِ بِالْفَقْرِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ یَذْهَبَانِ بِهِ

Abu Hamza al-Thumali said: 'Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: O Abu Hamza! Washing hands before and after food removes poverty!'

I said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you! It removes poverty?!' He said: 'Yes, it removes it!'

3 عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّه قَالَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ غَسْلُ الْیَدَیْنِ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ زِیَادَةٌ فِی الْعُمُرِ وَ إِمَاطَةٌ لِلْغَمَرِ عَنِ الثِّیَابِ وَ یَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: Washing hands before and after eating increases life, keeps grease away from clothes, and brightens the eyes!'

4 عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّه قَالَ: مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ یَکْثُرَ خَیْرُ بَیْتِهِ فَلْیَتَوَضَّأْ عِنْدَ حُضُورِ طَعَامِهِ

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever is happy for the good of his house to increase, should wash his hands when his food is served!'

5 عَنْ أَبِی عَوْفٍ الْبَجَلِیِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّه یَقُولُ الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ یَزِیدَانِ فِی الرِّزْقِ.

Abu Awf said: 'I heard Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) say: Washing hands before and after eating increases sustenance and livelihood!'

📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 424, hadith 218

6 عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَن قَالَ: الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ يُثَبِّتُ النِّعْمَةَ.

Imam Kazim (peace be upon him) said: 'Washing hands before and after eating makes the blessing stable and firm!'

📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 424, hadith 222

7 عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّه عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّه قَالَ: يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ الْوُضُوءَ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ شِفَاءٌ فِي الْجَسَدِ وَ يُمْنٌ فِي الرِّزْقِ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) narrated from his forefathers that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: 'O Ali! Indeed, washing hands before and after eating is a healing for the body and a blessing and bounty in sustenance!'

📚 Al-Mahasin, p. 425, hadith 223

8 عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الحضرمی عَنْ أَبِي عَبْداللَّه قَالَ: الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلُ الطعام وَ بَعْدَه يُذِيبَانِ الْفَقْرَ.

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: 'Washing hands before and after food melts away poverty!'

📚 Amali al-Tusi, Vol. 2

9 عَنْ هشام بن سالم عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ آبَائِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّه مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَكْثُرَ خَيْرُ بَيْتِهِ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ عِنْدَ حُضُورِ طَعَامِهِ وَ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ عَاشَ فِي سَعَةٍ مِنْ رِزْقِهِ وَ عُوفِيَ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ فِي جَسَدِهِ وَ زَادَ الْمُوسَوِيُّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ هِشَامٌ قَالَ لِيَ الصَّادِقُ وَ الْوُضُوءُ هَاهُنَا غَسْلُ الْيَدَيْنِ قَبْلَ الطَّعَامِ وَ بَعْدَهُ.

Hisham ibn Salim narrated from Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) from his forefathers that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: 'Whoever is happy for the good of his house to increase, should perform wudu (wash his hands) when his food is served, and whoever performs wudu (washes his hands) before and after eating, will live in abundance of his sustenance and will be granted well-being from the affliction in his body.'

And al-Musawi (who is one of the narrators of this hadith) added in his hadith that Hisham said: 'Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to me: The meaning of 'wudu' in this hadith(s) is washing the hands before and after eating!'

✅ Let us act upon the recommendations of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in washing hands before and after eating so that we may reach its amazing blessings.
