Question 79: Is it recorded in historical sources that Fatimah al-Zahra (SA) was struck on the face? Is it considered authentic?
✅Answer: This great injustice has been mentioned in historical sources as well as in reliable narrations, and there is no doubt about it. Among them, the great Sheikh al-Saduq (RA) has narrated the following hadith in his book Al-Amali:
📚Al-Amali, Sheikh al-Saduq, p. 134, Session 28
Translation: Amir al-Mu’minin (AS) said: While I, Fatimah (SA), Hasan, and Husayn (AS) were with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), he suddenly turned to us and wept. I asked: O Messenger of Allah, what makes you weep? The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: I weep for what will be done to you after me. I asked: O Messenger of Allah, what will happen to us? He replied: I weep for the strike that will hit your head, for the slap that will land on Fatimah’s cheek, for the spear that will wound Hasan’s thigh, for the poison that will be forced upon him, and for the killing of Husayn. Ali (AS) said: At that moment, all the Ahlul Bayt wept, and I said: O Messenger of Allah, has our Lord created us only for trials and tribulations? The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: O Ali, be glad, for Allah has promised me that no one will love you except a believer, and no one will hate you except a hypocrite.
Request: Whoever reads this authentic narration, may they curse all the oppressors of the Prophet’s household, especially the one who struck the Lady of the Women of the Worlds (Fatimah) in the street.
